Educational Requirements:
∎ Diploma in Nursing
∎ 2 years work experience
∎ Written and spoken Bangla
∎ Ability to communicate in Rohingya language (spoken Chittagong dialect)
∎ Training in IMCI, CMAM, CMAM-I or IYCF
∎ Experience working in a nutrition program
∎ Experience working with infants 0-6 months
∎ Basic written and spoken English
∎ Desire to serve the refugee community

∎ Capacity to be flexible when facing difficult working conditions
∎ Able to work well under pressure

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Uphold Medair values and contribute to the wellbeing of the team as an active member.
∎ Follow World Concern and Medair policies, including child protection.
∎ Technical:
∎ Screen children and pregnant and lactating women (PLWs) for malnutrition and admit beneficiaries to OTP/TSFP/BSFP according to admission criteria
∎ Examine admitted children and PLWs and provide appropriate nutritional and medical treatment following national and international protocols
∎ Examine admitted children for any signs of co-existing illnesses such as pneumonia and diarrhoea, and provide appropriate nutritional and medical treatment or referral according to IMCI guidelines, using the WC/ Medair action protocol
∎ Dispense basic medications as indicated by IMCI, CMAM, and C-MAMI guidelines and protocols, and educate caregivers on the proper administration of medications
∎ Refer cases of severe acute malnutrition with medical complications in children 6-59 months to the nearest stabilization centre
∎ Liaise with the Nutrition Outreach Supervisor and Nutrition Promotor to ensure that home visits are ordered as per existing protocols
∎ Give appropriate nutrition, health and hygiene education/ counselling to the beneficiaries and care takers
∎ Discharge children and women according to specified discharge criteria
∎ Conduct rapid IYCF assessment on children 6-23 months, and refer to IYCF counselling as appropriate.
∎ Quality Management:
∎ Ensure good hygiene standards are kept within nutrition facilities, including use of personal protective equipment, handwashing, and disinfection as appropriate
∎ Keep work space clean and tidy
∎ Ensure accurate record keeping for reporting
∎ Compile OTP/TSFP/BSFP reports as required
∎ External Representation:
∎ Communicate with sending and receiving sites to ensure seamless and appropriate referral.
∎ Logistics:
∎ Assist other nutrition site staff in preparing stock requests
∎ Ensure safe storage of all medicines and medical material and equipment
∎ Monitor expiration dates to ensure stocks are used prior to their expiration date
∎ Conduct weekly stock checks and keep accurate records of stock movements of medical supplies
