Educational Requirements:

∎ At least 1 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Screen children (6-59 months) and pregnant and lactating women (PLW) for malnutrition and admit beneficiaries to OTP/TSFP/BSFP according to admission criteria
∎ Examine admitted children (6-59 months) and PLWs and provide appropriate nutritional and medical treatment following national and international protocols
∎ Examine admitted children (0-59 months) for any signs of co-existing illnesses such as pneumonia and diarrhoea, and provide appropriate nutritional and medical treatment or referral according to IMCI guidelines
∎ Dispense basic medications as required by IMCI, CMAM, and C-MAMI protocols, and educate caregivers on the proper administration of medications
∎ Refer cases of severe acute malnutrition with medical complications in children 6-59 months to the nearest stabilization centre.
∎ Screen infants under 6 months and lactating women and enrol beneficiaries to C-MAMI (Community Management of At Risk Mothers and Infants) according to admission criteria, including:
∎ Anthropometry: MUAC, weight, length and age (WLZ, WAZ)
∎ Clinical assessment using the C-MAMI guidelines
∎ Breastfeeding assessment
∎ Maternal mental health status assessment
∎ Examine enrolled infants and lactating women and provide appropriate nutritional and medical treatment following the pilot version of the C-MAMI guidelines that is adapted from the updated WHO guideline on the management of severe acute malnutrition in infants and children and the WHO IMCI guidelines
∎ Examine enrolled infants for any signs of co-existing illnesses such as pneumonia and diarrhoea, and follow appropriate referral according to the C-MAMI guidelines
∎ Assess enrolled lactating women for maternal mental health issues and refer to the appropriate mental health service if needed
∎ Refer severe infant cases (classified as pink) to the nearest stabilization centre or health care centre, as indicated
∎ Liaise with the Nutrition Outreach Supervisor and Community Outreach Counsellor to ensure that CMAM and C-MAMI defaulters and non-responders are followed up with home visits
∎ Assist with home visits of C-MAMI beneficiaries if needed
∎ Give appropriate nutrition, health and hygiene education to the beneficiaries and care takers
∎ Give appropriate IYCF counselling and other health messages to the enrolled lactating women
∎ Discharge children (6-59 months), PLWs infants and the lactating woman dyad according to specified discharge criteria
∎ Ensure proper hygiene standards are kept within nutrition facilities, including use of personal protective equipment, hand washing, and disinfection as appropriate
∎ Keep work spaces clean and tidy
∎ Ensure accurate record keeping for reporting
∎ Compile C-MAMI reports as required
∎ Staff Supervision and Development
∎ Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and provide guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions
∎ Provide support and mentorship to C-MAMI nutrition assistants and IYCF counsellors
∎ Coordination and External Representation
∎ Ensure good coordination between the nutrition team and other health and nutrition staff and also community and site volunteers in the same catchment area
∎ Ensure staff of referral facilities is informed of all aspects of the program including referral and counter-referral criteria
∎ Assist other nutrition site staff in preparing stock requests
∎ Ensure safe storage of all medicines and medical material and equipment
∎ Monitor expiration dates to ensure stocks are used prior to their expiration date
∎ Conduct weekly stock checks and keep accurate records of stock movements of medical supplies

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 18 years
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ Written and spoken Bangla
∎ Ability to communicate in Rohingya language (spoken Chittagong dialect)
∎ Basic written and spoken English
∎ Data entry
∎ Attention to detail and thorough
∎ Analysing information
∎ Experience working in a nutrition program
∎ Experience working with infants 0-6 months
∎ Fluent in written and spoken English desirable
