Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing
∎ 03 (Three) years Diploma in Nursing from Reputed Nursing Institute, With 02 (Two) years experience.
∎ Master degree in Nursing, Nutrition/ Public Health Nutrition will get preferred.

∎ At least 1 year(s)

Job Context:
∎ CONTRACT DURATION: December, 2020 (With Possibility of Extension)
∎ DUTY: Respective Program/ Department Will be select (Roaster-Day/Night, 5/6 working day). Department decision will be final for Location and Duty Roaster.
∎ START DATE: As soon as possible
∎ LOCATION: Moheshkhali, Kutundia, Pekua, Teknaf and Ukhiya.
∎ CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed Term
∎ NURSE is responsible for better nutrition among communities through extension of technical support to treatment clinical symptoms of severe acute malnutrition and prevention of further deterioration of the nutrition situation through provision of therapeutic food, routine drugs, health and nutrition education and capacity building and technical support to the ministry of health in the management of severe acute malnutrition. As working under the MoHFW, She will also be responsible for root level communication with MoHFW.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Objective 1: Responsible to ensure CMAM action protocol according to CMAM National Guideline
∎ Work closely with ACF and MoH&FW staffs to ensure all aspects of the programme are understood and agreed and appropriate referrals take place to and from the OTP and the programme is well integrated into the health systems.
∎ Treatment protocol of SAM, MAM & malnourished PLW
∎ Proper investigation to identify medical complication of SAM BNFs
∎ Enrolment, Discharge procedure of SAM, MAM & malnourished PLW
∎ Medical Transfer of SAM BNFs
∎ Proper follow up of SAM, MAM & malnourished PLW
∎ The CMAM and partner staff / volunteer
∎ Ensure hygiene in the CNCs
∎ Assess equipment needs of OTP/SFP according to protocol


∎ Objective 2: Ensure effective management of clinical and other ailments at OTP/SFP

∎ Plan and organize OTP/SFP at designated distribution sites in liaison MoH&FW staff
∎ Work closely with CNC staff to ensure all aspects of the program are understood and agreed and appropriate referrals take place to and from the OTP/SFP.
∎ Prepare plan of action for effective OTP implementation
∎ Work closely with the teams to ensure all children are screened correctly
∎ Ensure all criteria are respected and understood by the teams, including admission, discharge and transfer to and from the OTP/SFP and SC
∎ Ensure comprehensive health status checks and treatment according to the protocols
∎ Review the forms completed by staff to ensure completion, accuracy and coherence
∎ Follow-up and provide feedback to the OTP/SFP in charge on the amount and quality of the treatment supplies if it does not comply with specified quality standards
∎ Report on progress and any problems in a timely manner to line manager
∎ Ensure cases not meeting admission criteria return home as early as possible and understand why their child is not admitted
∎ Through liaison with the community outreach worker ensure effective follow up of all cases, particularly tracing of children who are: Regular follow up (Admission/Cure), Absent for one or more weeks, Any child with mild illness or problems with treatment, Weight static or loss in any follow up visit, Static MUAC of any follow up visit, Return from inpatient care, Mother/caregiver refuses inpatient care, Defaulter and CNR cases
∎ Ensure explanation the treatment to the mother/caregiver
∎ Ensure provision of key health and education messages to beneficiaries based the protocol and guidelines and based on timeline as- Key messages for caregivers of children with SAM during admission.
∎ Four essential preventive messages must be given (and practiced) in a community based care for the management of SAM and MAM; Exclusive breastfeeding (for 6 months) and continue breastfeeding up to two years of age, Introduction of appropriate energy and nutrient dense foods, including oil and animal products from 6 months of age (IYCF feeding
∎ recommendations of family diet up to 2 years of age and IMCI feeding recommendations of family diet after two years of age.
∎ Follow-up the good hygiene and sanitation at OTP/SFP sites.
∎ Recognizing danger signs
∎ Provide specific messages on home based diet following standard IYCF protocols during discharge (cure) from SAM and Admission and discharge of MAM
∎ Respond to inquiries regarding the technical aspects of the program admission and discharge whenever necessary at the OTP/SFP sites.
∎ Follow-up and ensure the field team interacts with the beneficiaries properly
∎ If there is a problem, find out what is wrong and find a solution or else contact your immediate supervisor
∎ Perform any other duties requested by the immediate supervisor
∎ Objective 3: Ensure identification of medical complications and transfer to SC /Admission to SC

∎ Ensure diagnosis of medical complication according to CMAM national guidelines including: Odema, Temperature, Diarrhea, Diarrhea with Dehydration, Respiratory rate, Pneumonia, Appetite, Vomiting, Infection, Anemia and Alertness
∎ Ensure transfer /admission to SC (UHC) of SAM BNF with complications
∎ Ensure follow up of transferred SAM BNFs
∎ Ensure return of transferred SAM BNF to OTP through appropriate channels.
∎ Objective 4: Ensure medicines administration in SC/OTP/SFP activities
∎ Follow, respect and ensure the protocols following the national guidelines i.e. Drug administration for SAM beneficiaries
∎ Add the activities linked to health and nutrition education in the protocols
∎ Ensure the treatment of the beneficiaries during visits at home through outreach staff
∎ Analyze the nutritional situation
∎ Objective 5: Coordinate with the relevant staff and partner staff
∎ Establish good relationship with partner staff and govt. health staff.
∎ Establish a good understanding of the program within the BNFs and caregivers.
∎ Work in close collaboration and coordination with the partners and give timely feedback on the activities on going screening, OTP / SFP.
∎ Collaboration and coordination with team members at field level
∎ Should build strong professional relations with MoH&FW staff for mutual working and understanding with cross referral mechanism and cooperation resulting in integrated interventions.
∎ Objective 6: Training of partner staff and volunteers
∎ Supervise OTP/SFP activities and provide on the job training
∎ Facilitate formal training of the partners staff/volunteer working in the nutrition program

∎ Objective 7: Reporting and task management
∎ Prepare weekly report and submit to line manager.
∎ Submit monitoring report to Line manager monthly
∎ Report any kind of problem to the Line Manager.
∎ Work on the capacity building of partner's staff on reporting and analysis.

∎ Inform Senior Project Officer (Line Manager) of any professional problems encountered
∎ Conduct all duties in a professional manner following Action Contre la Faim | Action Against Hunger staff regulations and charter
∎ Be flexible and adaptable with regards to the implementation of the daily work
∎ Objective 8: Proactively support ACFs commitments to gender equality, child protection and disability sensitivity .
∎ Read and ensure a full understanding of ACFs Gender Minimum Standards & Child Protection Policies, asking questions and/or for support when necessary
∎ Implement all work related activities with a gender, disability and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns and ideas of our staff and beneficiaries
∎ Ensure the incorporation of gender equity principles in all policies and activities
∎ Encourage the participation of all genders in meeting and on committees
∎ Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Having at least 1 year experience with 6 months internship certification from medical college hospital/Govt. recognized hospital.
∎ To be registered from the Bangladesh nursing council authority and to work with mostly with government hospital system.
∎ Management of nutrition project or nutrition research project (CMAM/IMCN, IYCF, Clinical Research)
∎ Working experience with Nutrition and Health interventions will be an added value
∎ Experienced in capacity building of partner staff,
∎ Ability to ensure coordination & negotiation with partners on the ground
∎ Organization skills are necessary
∎ Working experiences with partnership program will be added value
∎ Ability to use fluently Word, Excel, Power Point.
∎ Fluent in English (written and spoken)
∎ Good oral communication skills.

Salary: Tk. 55000 (Monthly)
