Job Responsibilities:
∎ Accountabilities:
∎ Knowing, promoting, implementing and following up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control, security rules and other protocols and procedures in the medical premises and ensuring high standards of hygiene of his/her working environment. Respecting medical secrets and confidentiality at all times.
∎ Organizing and carrying out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions, and assisting during consultations, daily rounds and other medical procedures. Participating in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary.
∎ Identifying Sexually Gender Based Violence victims and referring them to the medical team so they can receive the necessary treatment. Knowing and is aware of the importance and appropriate use of the Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Kit
∎ Ensuring patients are properly received and installed and that those with lack of autonomy are assisted, especially regarding their feeding, personal hygiene, movements and comfort. For ER and OPD nurse, ensuring triage of patients in waiting areas, wards or during emergencies, detecting the priority acute/emergency cases, carrying out first aid care and referring them to the doctor when necessary
∎ Sending material to be sterilized and recuperates it from sterilization
∎ Carrying out admission, surveillance and follow-up of patients (i.e. assessment of the evolution of their state of health and the identification of any emergency situation or deterioration
∎ Carrying and supervising administrative procedures and documents (fill in patient’s files, forms, consumptions, statistics, registers, health files, etc.), ensuring an appropriate written/oral handover, and reporting any problematic situations and cases that may arise. Participating in data collection and keeping doctors/supervisors informed
∎ Participating in the department-related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance (quality and its functioning, storage conditions, follow-up of expired drugs inventories, stock takes of medicines and material at every team changeover ensuring no material is taken out of nursing area/wards without prior authorisation, etc.)
∎ Supervising and training nurse-aids, nutritional assistants, cleaners and other related staff under his/her supervision, ensuring teamwork and adherence to all appropriate protocols and procedures

∎ MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:
∎ Patient management and administration of treatments:
∎ Provide nursing care to registered factory workers and emergency presentations within the primary care setting (OH nurse and as need for gap fill arises).
∎ Manage patient triage, assist in patient examination, complete injury and tetanus vaccination forms, perform wound dressing and suturing, maintain dressing log book, assist doctor in major or minor surgical procedures (OH nurse and as need for gap fill aries).
∎ Under supervision of MD and in collaboration with midwife, provide basic antenatal and postnatal care (SRH nurse and as need for gap fill arises).
∎ Provide family planning methods, i.e admister contraceptive injections (SRH nurse and as need for gap fill arises).
∎ Willingness to be trained in nursing specific SRH and OH duties as required in our cinical context.
∎ Ensure management of patients adhering to MSF standards and protocols where available.
∎ Organize discussion groups within the target group to ensure the promotion of basic health interventions such as hand hygiene, safe lifting etc.
∎ Arrange necessary referrals for patients where necessary, in collaboration with the Medical Doctor Supervisor.
∎ Set up and adminstration of the work station in the clinic : control patient flow, carrying out regular triage amongst the waiting patients, picking out cases requiring priority consultation or further input from the doctor.
∎ Evaluate the condition of the patient by medical history and general physical exam and documenting the results in the patient files / register.
∎ Write up summaries of consultations, noting the different key elements and completing all requirements for standard indicators.
∎ Administer treatments & dispense as prescribed by doctors; carry out other nursing care as required, follow the rules of hygiene and asepsis as per MSF protocols.
∎ Educate patients on the importance of treatment and follow up.
∎ Provide support to pharmacist as needed.
∎ Respect rules of dilation and asepsis before administering an injection and waste disposal.
∎ Vaccine administration (EPI Program and TT):
∎ Ensure the correct conservation of vaccines during the session (checking the cold chain, etc.).
∎ Completion of check list each time a vaccination is done and submitting to supervisor.
∎ Register, record and administer TT vaccination in both clinic and community settings.
∎ Recording and updating patient data:
∎ Ensure that registers and patient consultation forms are correctly completed.
∎ Complete morbidity forms on a daily basis according to diagnosis.
∎ Other activities:
∎ Be flexible in assisting other health care activities, gap filling and emergency response activities.

∎ Desirable - 2 years of previous experience and previous experience in other NGOs
∎ Desirable - Demonstrable experience in supervising and training others in a team setting
