Responsibilities & Context:
Create and adjust nursing shift schedules, manage time-off requests, and ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained across all units.
Ensure that all staff nurses comply with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., patient privacy).
Monitor departmental costs, maintain records, and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Mentor, train, and onboard new nurses. They conduct regular performance evaluations and identify ongoing training needs.
Monitor care delivery, assess patient needs, and step in to assist with complex cases or medical emergencies.
Evaluate nursing productivity and quality metrics to implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Act as a point of escalation for patient complaints or complex inquiries, and offer emotional support to families in distress.
Facilitate clear communication between nursing staff, physicians, and administrative leadership.
