∎ Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a NICU.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assess and monitor the vital signs of premature and critically ill newborns, including heart rate, respiration, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
∎ Administer medications and provide respiratory support through ventilators and other breathing devices.
∎ Perform essential newborn care tasks like feeding (tube feeding or by mouth), and maintaining temperature regulation, intake output etc.
∎ Assist with procedures ordered by neonatologists (physicians specializing in newborn care).
∎ Continuously monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly report any concerns to physicians.
∎ Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment used in the NICU, such as incubators and monitors.
∎ Implement treatment plans as prescribed by neonatologists, ensuring accurate medication dosage and proper use of equipment.
∎ Provide emotional support and education to parents and families of NICU infants, explaining complex medical conditions and procedures in a compassionate and clear manner.
∎ Collaborate with social workers and other healthcare professionals to address the needs of families.
∎ Overview
∎ NICU nurses are highly specialized registered nurses who provide critical care to fragile newborn infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. These infants may be premature, low birth weight, have birth defects, or experience complications after birth, requiring constant monitoring and intensive medical interventions. NICU nurses play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of these vulnerable patients and supporting their families during a stressful time.
∎ Responsibilities:
∎ Patient care:
