Job Responsibilities:
∎ Set up and configure Swiss, OLT, and Microtik.
∎ Design, implement, and maintain the organization's network infrastructure.
∎ Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
∎ Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues.
∎ Implement network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
∎ Design, provision, and operate an extensive MPLS IP WAN/LAN network.
∎ Implement changes both at an individual circuit level as well as overall large scale as needed.
∎ Investigate network performance issues to determine root cause, develop and implement plans to address as needed.
∎ Perform equipment configuration and provide support to field deployment for new nodes and circuits.
∎ Assist and train NOC operators to monitor and configure MPLS equipment and networks to assess, troubleshoot, and make recommendations to improve performance.
∎ Assess the risk of adds and changes to the network, plan cutovers.
∎ Assist in the development of MPLS/IP networking standards.
∎ Create documentation and network maps and assist Project Engineering with network expansion.
∎ Create weekly reports and presentations to effectively communicate current operational status with management.

∎ Minimum 5 years of experience as a network engineer or in a similar role, including knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching protocols, VLANs, and WAN.
∎ Utility and/or ISP industry experience is an asset.
∎ Solid understanding of TCP/IP and IP/MPLS networking concepts, subnets, and the OSI Model.
∎ Design experience in creating resilient, high availability network services.
∎ Understanding of common routing protocols, particularly OSPF.
∎ Basic UNIX System Administration is an asset.
