Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide medical care as well as treatment to obstetrical patients, delivers babies, and also
∎ instructs patients in prenatal postnatal health practices
∎ Participate in initial examination of obstetrical patient plus is assigned responsibility for
∎ care, treatment plus delivery of patient
∎ Examine patient during pregnancy, utilizing physical findings, laboratory test results and
∎ additionally patients statements to evaluate condition ensure that patients progress is
∎ normal
∎ Discuss case with Gynaecologist/Obstetrician. to assure observation of specified practices
∎ Instruct patient in diet prenatal health practices
∎ Stay with patient during labour to reassure patient to administer medication
∎ Deliver infant as well as performs postpartum examinations plus treatments to make sure
∎ that patient infant are responding normally
∎ When deviations from standard are encountered during pregnancy or delivery, administers
∎ stipulated emergency measures, and also arranges for immediate contact of
∎ Obstetrician/Gynaecologist (Refer them to the correct services).
∎ Visit patient during postpartum period in hospital as well as at home to instruct patient in
∎ care of self plus infant examine patient
∎ Maintain records of cases for inclusion in establishment file
∎ Conduct classes for groups of patients as well as families to provide information concerning
∎ pregnancy, childbirth, family orientation
∎ May direct activities of other workers
∎ May instruct in midwifery in establishment providing such training.
∎ You will be expected to do go on field visits
∎ You will provide educational workshops to promote natural birth, infection control and general wellbeing.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 23 to 45 years
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ Good English language and literacy required as well as good IT skills.
