∎ BBC Media Action is the BBC’s international development charity. We use media and communications to reduce poverty and promote human rights in developing countries. We partner with civil society, local media and others to produce creative programmes in multi-media formats which inform and engage audiences around key development issues; and strengthen the media sector through capacity building. Our work is built on insights from our research and engagement with communities and is focused on key themes: governance and rights, media development, humanitarian, health, climate adaptation and resilience.
∎ Reporting to the Training Manager will be accountable for planning and implementing various capacity-strengthening training sessions and will prepare necessary online and offline modules. Additionally, they will mentor the trainees to assist in devising and developing a range of audio/radio programmes of different formats and will take responsibility for co-producing or developing packages and programmes. S/he will be responsible for preparing detailed work plans with achievable timelines for each stage of the training and production process, including research and pre-production, maintenance of scheduling, learning management, and other systems, as well as arranging audio recording and post-production. S/he will collaborate across both the production and training teams to ensure the timely delivery of training and outputs within budget, adhering to BBC Media Action’s high creative standards and editorial requirements.
∎ The position is based in Dhaka but with extensive travel to the project locations across the country as necessary. In general, normal office hours will apply but the nature of the role means that a flexible approach to working time will be necessary.
