Experience Requirements

• 8–12 years of relevant experience in IE and Production Planning in the RMG sector.

• Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial/supervisory role.

• Strong experience in Knit Garments/Knit Composite manufacturing preferred.

• Hands-on experience in Sewing, Finishing and Production Planning will be an advantage.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of SMV, CPM, Time Study, Method Study, Line Balancing and Capacity Planning.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and production data analysis.

• Knowledge of ERP/MRP or planning software will be an advantage.

• Good understanding of Lean, 5S, Kaizen and productivity improvement.

• Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet shipment deadlines.

• Good command of English and Bengali.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced, analytical and result-oriented IE & Planning Manager to lead Industrial Engineering and Production Planning activities of our knit garments manufacturing operation.

The incumbent will be responsible for capacity planning, production planning, SMV, CPM, line balancing, productivity and efficiency improvement, manpower optimization, production monitoring and timely order execution, ERP, ensuring optimum utilization of manpower, machines and production capacity.

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Engineering (IE)

• Lead and manage the IE team and ensure effective utilization of IE resources.

• Conduct time study, method study, motion study and work measurement.

• Develop and maintain Operation Bulletin (OB), SMV, CPM, machine and manpower requirements for each style.

• Prepare line layout and conduct effective line balancing to eliminate bottlenecks.

• Monitor line efficiency, productivity, capacity utilization and manpower utilization.

• Conduct capacity studies and establish realistic production targets.

• Identify process losses, idle time and non-value-added activities and implement corrective actions.

• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Support Production in achieving daily/hourly targets through productivity improvement and process optimization.

• Prepare IE reports, dashboards and management presentations.

Production Planning

• Prepare monthly, weekly and daily production plans based on order quantity, shipment date, capacity and available resources.

• Develop order/style-wise production plans in coordination with Merchandising and Production.

• Allocate orders to appropriate lines based on capacity and production requirements.

• Monitor order status, WIP, production progress and shipment commitments.

• Monitor Plan vs. Actual production and take corrective/recovery actions for shortfalls.

• Ensure proper production sequencing to minimize style changeover, idle time and production loss.

• Coordinate with Cutting, Sewing, Finishing, Quality, Store and other concerned departments for smooth production flow.

• Follow up on fabric, trims and other production inputs required for planned production.

Capacity, Productivity & Team Management

• Prepare and maintain factory, line and machine capacity reports.

• Monitor efficiency, productivity, downtime and capacity utilization.

• Identify capacity constraints and develop practical solutions and recovery plans.

• Lead, train and develop the IE & Planning team.

• Set departmental KPIs and ensure achievement through regular performance review.

• Support management in productivity enhancement, cost reduction and profitability improvement.

Management Reporting

Prepare regular reports on: Production Plan vs. Actual | Line Efficiency | Productivity | Capacity Utilization | SMV/CPM | Manpower & Machine Utilization | Line Loading | Order & WIP Status | Bottleneck Analysis | Recovery Plan | Cost/Productivity Improvement
