Job Context:

∎ Overview: The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC or "the Federation") is the world`s largest volunteer-based humanitarian network. ∎ Be responsible for providing logistics services for the IFRC Bangladesh Population Movement Office (PMO) in support of the RCRC Movement response to the influx of Rohingya people from Rakhine State, Myanmar. The role will work closely with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) and Swedish Red Cross (SweRC) WASH Team for delivery of logistics services with responsibility for logistics activities.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Logistics Officer will be responsible for ensuring logistics and supply chain management excellence that effectively and efficiently supports the Population movement operation.
∎
∎ S/he will be responsible for to carrying out following responsibilities.
∎
∎ Implement, maintain and follow International Federation standard warehouse practices and record keeping in accordance with audit trail standards.
∎ Establish, operate and maintain the tracking and reporting of commodities using Federation tools and guidelines.
∎ Ensure the correct storage and rotation of stocks, as well as proper structural maintenance of warehouse(s) in view of maintaining all stocks in good condition.
∎ Organize local labour to affect the timely and efficient reception at warehouse and dispatch of goods to distribution points and National Society's warehouses.
∎ Coordinate the payment of daily workers within the camps.
∎ Establish and maintain appropriate filing system for all logistics activities.
∎ Assist in preparing payment for local supplier with the help of PMO Logistics Dept.
∎ Perform day to day administrative task for warehouse.
∎ Manage assets & inventories, disposals, repairs & maintenance using Federation tools and guidelines.
∎ Maintain documentation according to IFRC filing standards to full audit trail standards and provide advice/negotiate contracts for goods and services required by the PMO office.
∎ With proper authorization, ensures to receive goods or services and arrange their delivery in a timely and cost-effective manner.
∎ Prepare logistics reports required by the different stake holders.
∎ Perform any other related duties or responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager.
∎ Assist logistics staff in their capacity building. Implement and maintain security, safety procedures and systems.
∎ Support the collection of technical data in line with the analysis to become "a greener logistics department".
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience:
∎ 3-year experience in procurement, general logistics, including warehousing, transportation, customs clearance and procurement.
∎ At least 3 years working in refugee camps
∎ Experience of supervising and supporting staff or labourers
∎ Experience of working with the Red Cross / Red Crescent is preferable.
∎ Experience of working for a humanitarian/non-profit-making organization
∎ Good mental and physical health
∎ Knowledge:
∎ Advanced skills in computers (Windows, word processing, spread sheets, etc.)
∎ Able to work independently and as part of the team
∎ Exceptional level of patience and able to work long hours
∎ Strong negotiation skills
∎ Ability to detect and resist potential fraud.
∎ Documentation preparation and filing skills
∎ Ability to deliver unfavourable news to unsuccessful suppliers/providers
∎ Sensitive to cultural and regional issues
∎ Knowledge of "Green Response" and Environment sustainability is preferable.
∎ Languages: Fluency in English and Bangla. Also good in Chittagonian.
