Education:

A master`s degree in a relevant discipline.

• Previous experience as a Librarian in an academic institution is highly desirable.

• Thorough knowledge of library management systems and cataloging tools would be an advantage.

• A strong understanding of day-to-day library management, organisational principles for collections and resources, and modern library practices.

• Familiarity with current standards, trends and technologies in library services in higher education.

• Proficiency in library management systems and the use of cataloging tools.

• Demonstrated sound communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with Library users, faculty colleagues and representatives of partner institutions.

• A commitment to providing high levels of customer service to Library users.

• Ability to display initiative and anticipate the changing needs of Library users.

• Time management skills and the capacity to work independently.

• A collegiate approach and collaboration with faculty, colleagues and students.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.

• Budget management and project management skills.

Major Responsibilities

• Establish a collection of books, both online and onshelf, to support the delivery of partner programs.

• Select and purchase a diverse range of books, publications, and other reading materials that align with the academic needs and general interests of the UCB community.

• Identify suitable online resources to support teaching and learning for the programs offered by the College.

• Ensure the Library is open during operating hours.

• Ensure all Library users can easily access and utilise physical Library resources during the hours of operation, and access online resources at any time.

• Ensure that Library services are provided within budget and identify any areas where savings may be made or more resourcing may be needed.

• Maintain new and existing resources within budgetary constraints and maintain good relationships with vendors and service providers.
