Job Context

Application is invited for the position of Laboratory Instructor on prevailing terms and conditions of ANNI&C.

Job Responsibilities

• Teach and demonstrate nursing procedures (e.g. IV insertion, catheterization) using manikins and simulation equipment.
• Ensure students understand the correct techniques and safety protocols.
• Monitor students during lab sessions to ensure proper practice.
• Provide individual guidance and feedback on performance.
• Check and ensure the functionality of all equipment (e.g., simulators, mannequins).
• Maintain an inventory of lab supplies and request restocking as needed.
• Set up materials, instruments, and scenarios for practical classes in advance.
• Ensure the lab is clean, organized, and meets safety and infection control standards.
• Work with nursing faculty to align lab activities with the curriculum.
• Assist in developing practical assessments and skill checklists.
• Evaluate student performance through Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) or other practical tests.
• Document student competencies and provide constructive feedback.
• Create or assist in developing instructional guides, videos, or checklists.
• Support simulation-based learning activities (e.g., emergency scenarios).
• Enforce infection control protocols and proper disposal of biohazard waste.
• Train students on lab safety guidelines and emergency procedures.
• Keep records of any incidents or equipment malfunctions.
• Report to the head of the department or lab coordinator when necessary.
•  Support students struggling with practical skills.
• Encourage ethical and professional behavior during clinical simulations.
• Offer extra lab sessions for students needing additional practice or remediation.
• Keep attendance, performance records, and inventory logs.
• Assist in preparing reports related to lab usage and student progress.
• Prepare lab for inspections by nursing councils or accreditation bodies.
• Ensure compliance with nursing education standards (e.g., INC, state councils).
• To execute any other assignment as and when required by the competent authority.
