Responsibilities & Context:
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified KG-1 & KG-2 Homeroom Teacher to join our academic team. As students transition from play-based learning to more structured academic concepts, the Homeroom Teacher plays a pivotal role in bridging this gap. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a love for learning while ensuring students meet their foundational literacy and numeracy goals.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership: Lead the core instruction for KG-1 and KG-2 students, focusing on English, Mathematics, and General Knowledge.
Curriculum Adaptation: Deliver and adapt the Cambridge curriculum to suit the diverse learning styles and needs of the students.
Holistic Development: Foster social-emotional learning, encouraging students to develop independence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Progress Monitoring: Maintain comprehensive records of student performance through formative and summative assessments.
Parent-Teacher Partnership: Conduct regular parent-teacher meetings to discuss student progress and provide guidance for home-based support.
Extracurricular Integration: Organize and participate in school events, assemblies, and field trips to provide a well-rounded educational experience.
Requirements
Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a relevant subject from a recognized university.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience teaching at the Kindergarten level in a Cambridge school.
Communication: Mastery of the English language (verbal and written) is essential for this role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using MS Office and digital classroom tools (e.g., interactive whiteboards, educational apps).
Soft Skills: Strong classroom management skills, creativity in lesson delivery, and a collaborative mindset.
Additional Requirements
Training in Phonics or specialized literacy programs is highly desirable.
Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
