Responsibilities & Context:
Design & Collection Development
▪ Research global trend forecasts (WGSN, etc), trade shows (MAGIC, Première Vision, Texworld), and consumer insights to inform seasonal design direction.
▪ Create original sketches, detailed technical flat drawings, and mood boards for seasonal and capsule collections.
▪ Develop cohesive colour palettes, fabric stories, and print/embroidery artwork aligned with client briefs.
▪ Manage the full design lifecycle from concept through bulk production — including sampling, fit reviews, and counter-sampling.
▪ Translate trend insights into commercially viable, market-appropriate product for diverse international retail channels.
Technical & Sourcing Collaboration
▪ Produce accurate tech packs including construction details, measurement specs, BOM (bill of materials), and care-label requirements for factories in Bangladesh, Vietnam, India, Turkey, and beyond.
▪ Partner with the sourcing team to identify appropriate mills, trims suppliers, and CMT/FOB factories that meet quality, capacity, and ethical compliance standards.
▪ Participate in supplier factory visits and in-person fit sessions during sourcing trips.
▪ Work closely with the Technical Design and QA teams to resolve construction issues and ensure production readiness.
Client & Stakeholder Management
▪ Present design proposals and range plans to international retail clients and internal merchandising teams with confidence.
▪ Incorporate client feedback within defined timelines while safeguarding brand DNA and commercial targets.
▪ Support the development of private-label and white-label programmes for multiple international markets simultaneously.
▪ Maintain awareness of import/export compliance, country-of-origin rules, and labelling requirements across key markets (EU, US, UK, ASEAN).
Process & Calendar Management
▪ Manage personal workload across multiple concurrent seasonal calendars and client timelines.
▪ Maintain digital design files, sample libraries, and trim/fabric archives in line with company PLM/PDM systems.
▪ Contribute to post-season performance analysis and range reviews to continuously sharpen commercial outcomes.
