Context:
Al Ehsan Academy is a unique educational institution that combines the national curriculum (English Version) with religious education (Madrasa). The Intern (Teaching Assistance) plays a supportive and structured role to ensure smooth classroom operation during the crucial early hours of the academic day. The Intern (Teaching Assistance) helps both in academic instruction and in maintaining discipline and routine in line with the values of a religious academic setting.
This part-time morning position is vital to managing younger learners, maintaining classroom discipline, and supporting both general and religious instruction, ensuring students stay focused, safe, and engaged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrive by 7:45 AM and help tidy the classroom before leaving at 11:45 AM and assist in setting up the classroom
- Check and prepare worksheets, lesson materials, or digital content as directed by the teacher.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and learning-friendly environment.
- Assist in welcoming students and helping them settle in.
- Support the teacher in maintaining classroom discipline and ensuring students remain attentive.
- Monitor individual or group student activities, offering help as needed with classwork or reading tasks.
- Distribute and collect homework, assignments, and classwork.
- Assist in maintaining student files or lesson records under the teacher’s supervision.
- Collaborate with other assistants or support staff if required for special activities (e.g., assemblies or events).
- Ensure students’ safety during classroom hours, especially younger learners.
- Support teachers in handling minor emergencies or guiding students to the school nurse when needed.
- Brief the Assistant Coordinator on any observations or incidents during the morning session.
