Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Institutional Partnership Development Specialist will be instrumental in liaising with Compass stakeholders and partners within academic institutions, NGOs and CBOs, as well as other relevant civil society, GoB, or research institutions. Will coordinate in identifying, prioritizing, developing and implementing partnerships related to the technical cooperation activities. The Forestry and NRM Coordination Specialist will ensure effective implementation of the technical activities in the Compass workplan and recommend necessary adjustments as needed. The Institutional Partnership Development Specialist will communicate and coordinate closely with Compass stakeholders to inform the Compass program workplan priorities and provide capacity building assist in the development of tools, activities, and methodologies to effectively implement Compass workplan activities.
∎ The Institutional Partnership Development Specialist will support the program with duties and responsibilities including, but not be limited to, the following:
∎ Identify and coordinate with potential stakeholders in order to develop institutional partnerships with relevant stakeholders;
∎ Assess capacity, training, and partnership needs of Compass NGO, Academic, and CBO stakeholders and provide recommendations to Compass management and technical teams for partnership and capacity building support;
∎ Provide consultation and technical support on the development of institutional partnerships and capacity building activities on Compass related activities to relevant communities and stakeholders;
∎ Consult closely with Compass leadership and technical teams to provide inputs to capacity building activities in Compass annual budgeting and work planning sessions;
∎ Maintain ongoing coordination with stakeholders through regular communication, outreach, consultative meetings, and other forms of interaction with Compass stakeholders;
∎ Prepare quarterly and annual progress reports for component level activities;
∎ Work closely with MEL and Communications teams to assess impact of partnerships, trainings, and capacity building activities;
∎ Collaborate with and orient Compass technical experts and stakeholders on Compass activities;
∎ Carry out any other administrative responsibilities as assigned by the office.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 7 years of work experience in relevant positions, with 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Prior experience working with USAID or USG programs/projects is highly preferred. Proven experience in providing expert leadership in financial and procurement operations in the programs/projects of non-government or donor agencies is required.
∎ Skills/Competencies:
∎ Demonstrated experience of working with multi-cultural team and providing leadership with professional judgment in cross-cultural and multi-level organizational context;
∎ Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment with GOB and USG agencies, international donors, academic institutions, NGOs, community groups, and other stakeholders;
∎ Experience with previous institutional partnerships, program design, and capacity building programs in Bangladesh, preferably in the natural resource management and forestry fields;
∎ Strong leadership skills and be able to work independently with minimum supervision or guidance;
∎ Excellent technical, quantitative, and qualitative skills for tracking and analyzing organizational capacity using appropriate tools are required;
∎ Must have excellent inter-personal skills, proven teamwork capacity with demonstrated track-record of working with diverse team and habit of practicing result-oriented approach in solving critical and sensitive issues with diplomatic and delicate manner;
∎ Interest in learning new tools, ability to make evidence-based programmatic decisions;
∎ Proven ability to provide on-job capacity building trainings to other team members;
∎ Ability to travel for field visits when needed;
∎ Excellent organizational skills;
∎ High proficiency in relevant computer applications e.g. MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS- PowerPoint, and basic internet skills are required.
∎ Language Ability:
∎ The incumbent must be proficient in spoken and written English at Level IV (fluent) and must likewise be fully fluent in spoken and written Bangla. English language skill will be tested.
