∎ Master’s Degree in Public health/Biology/Environmental Science/health Science/ Research Methodology/Biostatistics/Research and Development. Individual with Ph.D Degree are encouraged to apply.
∎ Proven track record of successful Research & Development Projects.
∎ 12 - 15 years’ experience as a Researcher in relevant field.
∎ Qualitative and Quantitative Research Mastery.
∎ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
∎ Strong analytical skills.
∎ High level of problem solving and decision-making abilities.
∎ Ability to manage a team and lead projects.
∎ Ability to analyze and interpret data.
∎ Ability to develop strategies and plans.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ The Head, Research and Development will be directing and implementing hospital’s research and development policies, objectives and initiatives. Ensuring research and development activities and maintain hospital’s competitive position and productivity. Responsible for leading, managing and delivering high profile research and development works and supporting colleagues within the hospital. The role will involve providing effective leadership and oversight of a range of ophthalmic research projects across learning, skills and engagement. This includes building relationships with key stakeholders, partners and decision-makers; proactively generating proceed development opportunities; leading a research and development work aligned to hospital’s strategic plan; overseeing the quality and delivery of research and ensuring that our research work achieves a positive impact on policy and practice.
∎ Major Responsibilities:
∎ Design and lead research and development programmes across the breadth of IIEI&H’s strategic priorities – ensuring that work is delivered to time and quality expectations, within budget and with appropriate measures of its impact.
∎ Work with colleagues to identify and secure proactive approaches to stakeholders and partners, responding to proposals and calls for applications through the proper process.
∎ Develop and maintain effective relationships and networks with key stakeholders involved in relevant policy, delivery and research – including national and local government, other national/local/international agencies, trusts and foundations, service providers and other research centers.
∎ Keep up to date with key developments in policy, research and practice on learning, skills, engagement on innovations in research and evaluation methods and tools.
∎ Work with other Heads of Department to ensure communication flows across the hospital.
∎ Ensure and provide the evaluation of the topic, relevant research and the appropriateness for the journal.
