Responsibilities & Context:

Role Overview

As the Head of Trims and Accessories, you will be the architect of our global sourcing strategy for all non-fabric components. From high-stretch elastics and specialized threads to sustainable buttons and branded packaging, you will ensure that every component meets our rigorous standards for quality, cost, and lead time. You aren’t just buying "stuff"—you are managing the intricate veins of the knitwear production line.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Global Sourcing

  • Develop and execute a robust sourcing strategy for all trims (labels, zippers, buttons, drawstrings, elastics, polybags, etc.) specific to knit garment requirements.

  • Identify and onboard high-performing vendors globally, ensuring a diversified supply chain that mitigates risk.

  • Lead the transition toward sustainable and eco-friendly trims in alignment with global compliance standards (GRS, OEKO-TEX, etc.).

2. Procurement, Cost Management & Compliance Management

  • Negotiate master service agreements (MSAs) and pricing frameworks to achieve maximum cost efficiency without compromising quality.

  • Standardize trim costs across various product categories to ensure margin consistency.

  • Monitor global commodity trends (e.g., plastic, metal, or cotton prices) that impact trim costs.

  • Compliance: Ensure all trims meet RSL (Restricted Substances List), GRS (Global Recycled Standard), and OEKO-TEX requirements.

  • Commercial Coordination: Work closely with the Commercial team on Back-to-Back LCs and UD (Utilization Declaration) managemen

3. Technical Excellence & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all trims are compatible with knit fabric characteristics (e.g., shrinkage, stretch recovery, and color fastness).

  • Oversee the testing protocols for trims to prevent common issues like "bleeding," "snagging," or "mechanical failure."

  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to resolve vendor-related defects immediately.

4. Supply Chain & Lead Time Optimization

  • Manage the "Trim Calendar" to ensure all accessories arrive at the factory ahead of production start dates (PCD).

  • Implement Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) or "buffer stock" programs for core, high-volume trims to reduce lead times.

  • Coordinate with the Merchandising and Production teams to troubleshoot delays.

5. Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and upskill a team of sourcing managers and procurement officers.

  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

6. AI & Digital Transformation (Modernizing the Floor)

  • Predictive Inventory: Use AI tools to forecast "buffer stock" needs for core items (threads, polybags, cartons) based on seasonal order projections.

  • Digital Tracking: Replace manual registers with real-time ERP/PLM data entry for instant visibility of trim status.
