Skills Required:

Additional Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in skills development, nursing education, or large-scale training programmes.

  • Demonstrated leadership in multi-partner and multi-site initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of Bangladesh's health systems and healthcare regulations, health training and service delivery context.

  • Experience working with NGOs/enterprises, donors, government agencies, or academic institutions. Proven track record of initiating and implementing healthcare Skills & Workforce Development programmes.

  • Experience in adopting language and international accreditation programs alongside government certified programmes for overseas employment.

  • Experience in fund raising/ partnerships and creating sustainable programme models.

The Head of Skills & Workforce Development will provide strategic and technical leadership to establish and scale SAJIDA Foundation's workforce development portfolio. The role focuses on building practical competencies, improving employability, and strengthening quality of care for nurses, mid-level health workers, and allied cadres by aligning training systems with service delivery needs and labor market demand in home and abroad.

Position type: Contractual (Full-time) | Senior Leadership Position

Job Location: Dhaka (with regular field engagement)

Reports to: Director, Development Programs / Executive Leadership

Major Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy and programme design for health workforce skills and workforce development (e.g., nursing, care giving) initiatives.

  • Oversee development and scaling of competency-based training programmess and assessment systems.

  • Ensure training quality, standardsation, and relevance across delivery models.

  • Build and manage partnerships with government bodies, professional councils, hospitals, training institutes, and employers in home and abroad.

  • Lead accreditation, regulatory alignment, and recognition of training and certification.

  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to training, programme, and field teams.

  • Support resource mobilisation through proposal development and donor/partner engagement for programme sustainability.

  • Manage unit resources including budgeting and documentation.

  • Represent SAJIDA in relevant national and international forums.

  • Monitor adherence to healthcare regulations, internal policies, and standards of care.

  • Oversee monitoring of training outcomes, employment pathways, and service quality improvements.
