∎ Background:
∎ Feed the Future Bangladesh Aquaculture and Nutrition Activity (BANA) is hiring a Grants Specialist. This activity aims to take a market systems approach, stimulating growth of the private-sector to deliver goods and services to the aquaculture sector in south-west Bangladesh, thereby ensuring the sustainability of investments. A key component of BANA is to assemble a team with experience of applying market systems approaches in development activities.
∎ Eligibility, Location and Duration:
∎ This position will be based at WorldFish`s Country Office in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Interviews are expected to be held in the last week of May 2019. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful candidate should be available to commence on June 2019 for an initial one (1) year and nine (9) months fixed term contract, with the possibility of contract renewal depending on performance and funding availability.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide technical assistance to the grant and financial management activities including negotiate of pre-award and post-award grant application processing of partners.
∎ Take necessary steps to exercise budgetary control, keep expenditure in check and ensure Activity functions within budget limit.
∎ Create, maintain and close donor grants in WorldFish's Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) system, OCS Unit 4 and manage sub-grantee agreements as per donor/sub-grantee requirements to ensure proper dissemination and understanding of WorldFish Grant Management Manual.
∎ Facilitate the understanding of contracts, compliance checklists and issues, dissemination and discussions by maintaining close collaboration among budget holders and management.
∎ Build the capacity of grantees on grant policies and procedures, grants development, and business management.
∎ Support in proposal writing particularly with the budget preparation ensuring that all proposals, contracts and amendments are appropriately authorised and uploaded to OCS system.
∎ Assist the Grants and Finance Manager and budget holders in monitoring expenditure and progress against allocations and time frames on a monthly basis.
∎ Produce and maintain monthly grants monitoring schedules and build capacity of partner organizations in regards to finance matters.
∎ Review and update partners' financial report in OCS system, ensuring fund disbursement and monitoring of financial activities are progressing as per policy PNGO's fund disbursement and monitoring their financial activities and reports are going on as per policies/procedure.
∎ Carry out duties as assigned by the Grants and Finance Manager.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Excellent working knowledge of finance and accounts and experience in donor financial reporting.
∎ Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
∎ Proficient in MS office, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and to support effective communication with experience of using accounting software packages.
∎ Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills.
∎ A demonstrated record of inter-disciplinary, partnership building attributes and the desire to work in a collaborative environment.
Salary:
∎ This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position with annual salary ranging between BDT 1,131,906 - BDT 1,236,864 per annum.
