Job Context
The General Manager (Admin & SCM) will serve as a strategic leader responsible for orchestrating the hospital's non-clinical operations. The primary objective is to optimize administrative efficiency, streamline the end-to-end supply chain (Procurement to Inventory), and ensure a world-class patient support environment while maintaining stringent cost-control and regulatory compliance.
Reporting Line
Reports directly to: Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer
Supervises: Admin, Procurement, Store, Logistics, Facility, Security, Transport & Support Services Teams
Key Responsibilities:
A. Administrative Leadership & Governance
Lead overall hospital administration ensuring efficient, compliant, and patient-centric operations
Develop and enforce administrative policies, SOPs, and internal controls
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and accreditation requirements
Manage government liaison, licensing, and statutory documentation
Drive operational excellence, service quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
B. Supply Chain Management (SCM) & Procurement
Lead end-to-end procurement, sourcing, and supply chain operations
Ensure uninterrupted supply of drugs, consumables, surgical items, and medical equipment
Develop and implement strategic sourcing and vendor management frameworks
Conduct vendor evaluation, negotiation, and contract management
Ensure cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards
Monitor inventory levels, stock control, and minimize wastage/expiry risks
C. Inventory, Store & Logistics Management
Oversee centralized store operations with real-time inventory tracking systems
Ensure accurate stock reconciliation and periodic audit compliance
Optimize warehousing, distribution, and internal logistics processes
Implement ERP/HIS-integrated supply chain modules for efficiency
Ensure proper handling of sensitive medical inventory and cold-chain management (if applicable)
D. Financial & Cost Control
Prepare and manage annual administrative & procurement budgets
Ensure cost optimization, expense control, and value-based purchasing
Monitor procurement spend and implement cost-saving initiatives
Collaborate with Finance for audit, compliance, and financial reporting
E. Team Leadership & Performance Management
Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams under Admin & SCM
Establish KPIs, performance benchmarks, and accountability frameworks
Ensure workforce discipline, efficiency, and professional conduct
Drive a culture of ownership, compliance, and service excellence
F. Strategic & Operational Excellence
Align Admin & SCM strategies with overall hospital business goals
Introduce process automation, digital systems, and operational best practices
Support expansion projects, new unit setup, and infrastructure development
Strengthen vendor partnerships and long-term procurement strategies
