Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Gender Specialist will be responsible for the following tasks:
∎ Working on activities under Sub-Objective 1.1 to ensure all activities include a gender lens. This is expected to include using established gender assessment tools such as the WCO Toolkit, the Gender Equality Organizational Assessment Tool (GEOAT), as a resource in project activities with NBR.
∎ Liaise with government, private sector and civil society counterparts to identify and develop the Activities under Objective 1 in the Work Plan aimed at reducing gender specific challenges faced by women-owned business in clearing goods at the major ports of entry.
∎ Identify and deliver training that addresses the gender dynamics of trade facilitation.
∎ Identify the business environment and regulatory barriers that impact women-owned business disproportionately, owing to traditional cultural and gender roles, and recommend mitigating interventions.
∎ Ensure inclusive approaches to the public private dialogue through designing interventions to ensure the engagement of women, youth and marginalized groups.
∎ Provide inputs on Objective 1 for the reporting requirements as specified in the Section F7 (pages 39-40) of the FtFBITBEE contract.
∎ Mentor LTTA and STTA engaged on activities under Objectives 1 and 2 to ensure gender issues are mainstreamed across all activities.
∎ Review the technical reports prepared to ensure FtFBITBEE is compliant with USAID rules and regulations, and IDG policies and procedures in relation to gender mainstreaming.
∎ Collaborate with the COP, DCOP and other Team Members to prepare the inputs relating to gender mainstreaming for the annual work plans, quarterly reports, annual reports, and ad hoc reports.
∎ Support the M&E Specialist to develop and implement the M&E plan and the project M&E system to ensure they address the gender dimension across the project objectives.
∎ Other duties as requested.
