Job Context:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Management Responsibilities:
∎
∎ Maintain system of accounts and keep books and records on all transactions and assets up to date and in line with donor guidelines
∎ Prepare accurate monthly financial and management reports, including income statement, balance sheet, budget and variance, projections and forecast, and cash flow
∎ Analyse and review financial information
∎ Maintain control of the following areas: general ledger, accounts payable, expense reports, billing, and payroll for the project
∎ Accurate delivery of payroll, supported by payslips, contracts and bank transactions.
∎ Oversee maintenance of personnel files of the project staffs
∎ Assist in the management of grants reporting, compliance, and reconciliation
∎ Prepare a variety of ad hoc financial scenarios as requested
∎ Prepare and fulfill FD 6, FD 2 and NGO Bureau related requirements
∎ Transactional Responsibilities:
∎
∎ Ensure that all financial transactions are processed accurately, in a timely manner, and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
∎ Develop, implement, and maintain processes and controls that are current best practices related to transaction processing
∎ Manage, oversee, process (as appropriate), and act as backup for processing all of the following transactions: payroll, accounts payable, revenue and expense, fixed assets, cash, bank reconciliations, and allocations
∎ Perform month-end closing procedures, including overhead allocations, account reconciliations, and updating schedules
∎ Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
∎ Making documentation donor audit compliant and available for review
∎ Reporting Responsibilities:
∎
∎ Ensure in issuing timely, accurate, and complete financial statements for all levels, including higher management, donor organization, and the NGO Affairs Bureau
∎ Ensure in coordinating the preparation of the draft audited financial statements and all tax returns
∎ Coordinate the preparation of financial information in the organizational annual report
∎ Recommend and report upon benchmarks against which to measure organizational performance
∎ Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
∎ Assist in production of cash flow reports, annual budget, and forecasts
∎ Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
∎ Compliance Responsibilities:
∎
∎ Prepare and assist with developing audit schedules for the annual audit and project audit
∎ Suggest improvements in processes to increase organizational effectiveness
∎ Oversee the donor conditions, rules and regulations as well as NGO Bureau Affairs rules and regulations
∎ This list of duties and responsibilities is by no means exhaustive and the post holder may be required to undertake other relevant and appropriate duties as required
Additional Requirements:
∎ Demonstrated experiences and capacity for at least 5 years in finance and accounting, including finance, accounting, audit, and analysis (including gathering, evaluating, presenting, and reporting financial information to management and external stakeholders)
∎ Experiences with Nonprofit organization and grant management of international donor organizations (e.g. Norad, EU, DFID, UKAID, UNAID, SDC etc.)
∎ Solid experience in coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments
∎ Proficiency with accounting software especially Tally and excellent Excel skills
∎ Pro-activeness and leadership capacity, extrovert and ability to work with diverse team
∎ Ability to meet deadline and work under pressure
∎ Self-motivated, proactive and target oriented
∎ Ability to explain complex financial information to non-finance programme staff
∎ Excellent problem solving skills
∎ Self-starter, proactive, positive and target oriented
∎ Capability of working in challenging and demanding situations.
∎ Ability to work in a team
∎ Willingness to work in a flexible schedule and travel in Bangladesh infrequently
∎ Have good interpersonal and communication skills

Salary: Tk. 65000 (Monthly)
