  • Ability to operate with independence, under pressure, to meet deadlines and commitments·

  • Proven ability to work as part of a team, and as part of a wider network, monitoring partner organization.

  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to respect and work well with people from different backgrounds and disciplines.

  • Willingness to visit and stay at remote area and other work assign by the management.

  • Physically and mentally sound with good health, smart, energetic, ability to work in all situation and environment.



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context: Project Summary: Strengthening Emergency Preparedness and building infrastructure for Disaster Vulnerable Communities in Bangladesh ( STEP & BuildIn) Project is aiming to improve the life and livelihood status of the vulnerable people by focusing on (i) Strengthening Knowledge, response and recovery capacity of different stakeholders (ii) Reducing the disaster risk through improving physical structure and providing improve adaptive services to the community and (iii) Reducing the vulnerability of the community people through providing improved and alternative livelihoods. 

Role of this Position: Under the supervision of Project Coordinator, the Manager-Finance will be responsible as a key person to overall management, controlling and final reporting of financial issues as well as compliances of the project coordinating with field office, partner organizations and donor. 

Project Duration: End date: 30-May-2025 (may be extend )

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of all financial transactions for both the project and head office, adhering to organizational rules, budget allocations, and donor requirements.

  • Monitor project cash flow and prepare fund requests to donors using prescribed forms, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

  • Verify fund requests from field offices and partner organizations, taking necessary actions to ensure smooth and timely fund disbursement.

  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal financial controls for the project, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and adequacy.

  • Ensure all financial activities comply with government regulations, particularly regarding VAT and Tax requirements.

  • Provide financial guidance and support to Accounts and Admin Officers, resolving issues, and aiding in decision-making processes.

  • Work closely with the Project Coordinator in the development and Implementation of the Project Implementation Plan and accounts procedures.

  • Maintain comprehensive financial records at the head office and ensure adherence to organizational policies in field offices.

  • Prepare and submit final financial reports to the organization and donor, ensuring deadlines are met and reporting accuracy is maintained.

  • Monitor financial risks, including budget overspends and increased costs, and provide timely updates to the Project Coordinator.

  • Ensure timely external auditing of the project as per the requirements of the government, donor, and organization.

  • Ensure the availability and secure safekeeping of project funds, authorizing and making payments for purchases in line with organizational procedures.

  • Oversee the archiving of accounting documents in accordance with CCDB’s procedures.

  • Provide necessary logistical and administrative support to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.

  • Keep accurate records of the project’s assets and ensure their proper management.

  • Collaborate with the procurement team to purchase necessary materials and items for the project.

  • Monitor financial activities of consortium partners and bilateral projects.

  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director, and Head of Finance.
