Job Context:
∎ Report to : Managing Director (MD) & Acting Chief Safety Officer (aCSO).
∎ Introduction: The Ready-Made-Garments (RMG) Sustainability Council (RSC) is an unprecedented initiative to carry forward the significant accomplishments made on workplace safety in Bangladesh. The RSC conducts structural, electrical, fire, and boiler safety inspections, support and monitor remediation, conduct safety training and operate an independent safety & health complaints mechanism available to workers in RMG factories in Bangladesh.
∎ Terms of Reference: The Finance Controller (FC) will serve as a part of the RSC`s senior management team and head up the Accounts Department. S/he will work under the supervision of the RSC Managing Director (MD) & Acting Chief Safety Officer (aCSO).
∎ The FC shall be based in the RSC office in Dhaka. S/he responsible for driving the financial planning of the company by analysing its performance and risks. Retaining constant awareness of the company`s financial position and acting to prevent problems. Setting up and overseeing the company`s finance IT system . S/he assist to the MD to implement the strategic plans of the company and maintain best practice.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
∎ Drive the financial planning of the company by analysing its performance and risks,
∎ Retain constant awareness of the company's financial position and act to prevent problems,
∎ Set up and oversee the company's finance IT system,
∎ Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel (management accountants, internal auditors etc.),
∎ Oversee all audit and internal control operations,
∎ Support the MD to develop the corporate fundraising strategy and manage relationships with Brands, Industry, Trade Unions and others, likes of donors/sponsors,
∎ Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis,
∎ Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to MD,
∎ Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines,
Additional Requirements:
∎ We are looking for an experienced FC to oversee all financial aspects of business and drive the company's financial strategy and planning. S/he will be responsible for assessing the financial performance of the company as well as possible risks and investments.
∎ A FC is a reliable professional with broad knowledge to all accounting, financial and business principles. S/he will be strategic thinkers and effective leaders who can make the most profitable decisions. The goal is to guide the company towards profitability and long-term success.
∎ At least 5 years plus post professional CA or equivalent qualifications is required for a FC role and an overall of 15 years professional work experience. Other requirements include:
∎ Proven experience as finance controller or similar role,
∎ In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices,
∎ Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting,
∎ Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP),
∎ An analytical mind with a strategic ability,
∎ Excellent organisational and leadership skills,
∎ Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities,
∎ Proficiency in English language
