Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) (<www.ypsa.org>) is a sustainable development organization operating in the Greater Chattogram Division (including the Chattogram Hill Tracts) and part of the Dhaka and Sylhet division, established in 1985, the International Youth Year. Since June 2018, YPSA has been implementing the project titled “Prevention and Response Activities Implementation on Counter Trafficking Issues” in both the host community and the Rohingya camps of Cox’s Bazar. This project is supported by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). YPSA is inviting competent candidates to apply for the following position.
Job Location : Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar
Duration : 4 months (September to December 2025); High possibility of contract extension
Job Responsibilities:
Manage the financial and accounting functions of the project, ensuring accuracy and transparency in all transactions.
Independently handle day-to-day accounts and financial management tasks.
Preparing financial reports for the organization and donor and ensure financial documentation is audit ready.
Maintain effective coordination and communication with stakeholders, vendors, and project personnel.
Maintain accurate books of accounts, prepare timely financial reports, and support audit and financial monitoring activities.
Prepare project budgets and conduct variance analyses to track financial performance.
Contribute to budgetary control by offering strategic insights and procedures for effective resource mobilization.
Ensure timely disbursement of salaries, benefits, and allowances in line with HR and finance policies as well as vendor payments.
Maintain accurate records of project assets and inventories on a regular basis.
Support administrative tasks such as office management, procurement, logistics coordination, and record keeping
Facilitate internal and external audits by ensuring timely availability of required documentation.
Ensure all financial and administrative responsibilities are performed in compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and government regulations.
Skills and Competencies:
1. Financial Management & Accounting Skills
Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and budget management.
Proven ability to manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and prepare financial reports.
Experience with financial reporting to donors, especially UN agencies, following specific guidelines and formats.
Competence in managing audits and financial reviews with accuracy and timeliness.
Strong technical proficiency in preparing software-based financial reports using tools such as MS Excel, accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, faps), and donor reporting systems.
2. Administrative and Operational Competencies
Knowledge of procurement procedures and asset/inventory management, preferably in accordance with UN or NGO standards.
Ability to oversee logistical support, office administration, and day-to-day operations of the project.
Skilled in maintaining documentation and administrative records in compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
3. Compliance and Risk Management
Strong and practical knowledge of VAT, Tax, Revenue Stamp Act, and relevant government rules and regulations.
Solid understanding of donor compliance requirements, especially for UN-funded projects (e.g., IOM,).
Familiarity with national and international audit standards and internal control mechanisms.
Capacity to identify and mitigate financial and administrative risks.
4. Communication and Coordination
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams, UN counterparts, vendors, and government stakeholders.
Ability to present financial data clearly and concisely to both financial and non-financial audiences.
