Job Context:
∎ Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) invites applications for the following positions for immediate appointment in the ongoing SHOUHARDO III Program , in partnership with CARE Bangladesh and funding support of USAID. The goal of the program is to "Improve gender equitable food security, nutrition and resilience of vulnerable people within Bangladesh for 549,000 poor and extremely poor people by August 2022". DAM is implementing the SHOUHARDO III program in Sunamganj ( Tahirpur&DowarabazarUpazillas) and Hobiganj ( Baniachang&AjmiriganjUpazillas) districts supported by CARE Bangladesh.
∎ Employment Status: Contractual Initial contract up to 31 August-2022
∎ Reporting: Technical Officer-Economic Development
∎ Working Condition: Based at the Union Level s/he will be travelling to selected village and attend necessary meetings at the program office level
∎ Job Location: Tahirpur& Dowarabazar upazilla of Sunamganj district.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Field Trainer-Economic Development (FT-ED) is responsible for ensuring production and income of women, youth and men members/groups linking with sustainable service sources including market access and information services. S/he will monitor progress of women, youth and men at group level and work with the TO- Economic Development (TO-ED) to prescribe remedial actions for sustainable income and resilience.
∎ S/he will be assigned to a number of villages/union and will engage directly with the participants, group leaders and service providers and at times may need to deal with the community as directed by the TO-ED.
∎ Other Ad-hoc Activities:
∎ Upholding organizational values and ensuring programming and organizational principles
∎ Planning for implementing approved DIP of activities at the union and upazila level
∎ Strengthening service models with special focus on Local Service Providers (LSPs) and online service sources
∎ Monitor and ensure support to Sanchay Sathi regarding VSLA formation and service providing followed by VSLA guideline.
∎ Support participants and community groups to be engaged with service providers (Public and Private) necessary for on-farm production, off-farm business and wage employment.
∎ Identify gaps and Selection of LSPs like Vaccinator, Micro Seed Dealers, Micro Seed Retailers, Fish Fry Hakwer, Sanchay Sathi and Business Promoter to meet the gaps as per program guidance, strengthen capacity as needed and breeze them with participants
∎ Facilitate local buyers (eg-collectors) and seller both on farm and non-farm so that participants especially women can sell produces with fare price with special focus on DHRC areas.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Professional Requirements:
∎ Good understanding about service models with special focus on Local Service Providers (vaccinators, Micro Seed Dealers, Micro Seed Retailers, Fish Fry hawker, Village Agents, collectors etc.) necessary for income and production
∎ VSLA facilitation skills, VSLA schedule of operation and STREAM data entry capacity
∎ Good understanding about community savings and women's economic empowerment
∎ Working experience with union/upazila level Government entities/Departments (eg-UP, SAAO, VFA, DYD, Banks, Financial Institutions etc.) and Private Service Providers (eg-VA, Vaccinator, Micro Seed Dealer, Micro Seed Retailers, Collectors, Local Market Committee etc.)
∎ Have good facilitation, communication, negotiation, linkage building skills with private and public service providers.
Salary: Tk. 17250 (Monthly)
