Job Context:
∎ Resource Integration Centre (RIC) is a national NGO since 1981 in Bangladesh. RIC is going to implement a project “Fresh Food Corners/Market Linkage” supported by World Food Programme (WFP). The project’s implementation areas are Ramu and Ukhiya Upazila under Cox’s Bazar district. RIC is seeking application from the potential candidate for the below mentioned position:
∎ Position: Field Officer (8)
∎ PROJECT: Fresh Food Corners/Market Linkage, WFP Location: Ramu and Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar.
∎ Grade/Scale: VIII/8
∎ Post type: Initial Contract (April’ 2022 – September’ 2022) expected to be renewed till December’ 2022
∎ Appointment: Immediate
∎ SCOPE OF ROLE:
∎ • Staff reportable to: Field Coordinator
∎ • Staff maintain liaison with: Project Assistant-Technical, MEO, AAAO, Field Assistant and WFP Officials
∎ • Staff based at Ramu, Cox’s Bazar.
∎ • Working Hours & Location: Eight hours and will work 6 days a week
Job Responsibilities:
∎ OVERALL, ROLE OF THIS POSITION:
∎ Identify and select areas to form Marketing Groups; and conduct mobilization meetings;
∎ Conduct mobilization meetings, and support formation of Marketing Groups with constitution;
∎ Support the selection of leaders and aggregators through a transparent and democratic process and according to plan;
∎ Support leaders and aggregators to perform their roles and responsibilities, incl. participate in all-member monthly meetings and ensure transparent and democratic leadership;
∎ Supervise that transaction are carried out.
∎ Support and encourage the Marketing Groups to establish collection points, business plans and year-round collective marketing, ensure documentation such as business register, sales records and money receipts;
∎ Support women farmers to prepare individual market-oriented plans for sustainable intensification of homestead productions. This includes profit and market analysis, implementation and follow-up in individual homesteads;
∎ Select women entrepreneurs according to selection criteria and help them to identify business cases for small agriculture enterprises, assist with business plans and implementation;
∎ KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTIBILITIES:
∎ A. The Field Officer will be responsible for all field level activities.
∎ B. Responsible for year-round collective marketing;
∎ C. Other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ WORKING EXPERIENCES:
∎ At least 3-5 years working experience and least 3 years working experiences as a Field Officer/Marketing officer or similar post in a reputed NGO/INGO.
∎ Have experience in field level activities in host community.
∎ JOB RELATED KONWLEDGE:
∎ Sound Knowledge on group meeting conduction, business plan, women entrepreneur, etc.
∎ NECESSARY SKILLS:
∎ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams and multi-cultural environments.
∎ Good report writing in English.
∎ Fluency in Bengali and moderate in English is required. A Chittagong local language is preferable.
∎ Computer software skill (MS-Word, Excel). Experienced on computer application.
∎ Habituated to extensive field work.
Salary: Tk. 42000 (Monthly)
