∎ Suchana: Suchana- ending the cycle of malnutrition in Bangladesh, is a multi-sectoral nutrition programme aims to achieve significant reduction in stunting amongst children under two years of age in Bangladesh. The programme adopts an integrated graduation model to nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive interventions to prevent chronic malnutrition within the critical 1,000 days from conception to until a child reaches its second birthday. Suchana consortium includes: technical partners - Save the Children (SC), Hellen Keller International (HKI), WorldFish, International Development Enterprises (iDE); implementing partners - Centre for Natural Resources Studies (CNRS), Friends in Village Development in Bangladesh (FIVDB), Rangpur Dinajpur Rural Service (RDRS); and research partner - icddr,b.
∎ Job Duration: Up to September/November 2023
∎ Job Location: Any Union/village of Moulvibazar District Habiganj & Moulvibazar District with extensive field visits to villages/communities
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Identification of target beneficiaries (very poor households containing woman of reproductive age and adolescent girls)
∎ Group and sub-group formation, conduct different meetings at beneficiary level and support in the intervention contributing to gender and nutrition integration
∎ Facilitate courtyard session on nutrition, capacity building of community groups and community support groups, conduct nutrition orientation trainings and facilitate growth monitoring and promotion sessions at community clinic/ERP centers
∎ Facilitate different technical trainings at community level, coaching sessions and follow-up activities
∎ Facilitate Rapid Market Assessment (RMA), Bigger picture, Production Sales Planning Meeting and Business Planning and Ward meetings for IGA assignment
∎ Distribution of HFP and IGA input (livestock, seed, feeds etc.)
∎ Assist in conducting savings group meetings and work for adolescent empowerment
∎ Visiting, monitoring and reporting project progress according to prescribed tools
∎ Attend training/orientation (nutrition specific, nutrition sensitive and others) and other capacity development events as and when required
∎ Any other activities as assigned
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least two years' experience in community-based health/nutrition or development project activities. Can be relaxed for candidates having excellent academic background.
∎ Good communication, Facilitation and motivational skill.
∎ Understanding of local cultural languages.
∎ Abilities to undertake extensive travel to village level
∎ Should have basic orientation in using Tab/Smart Phone
∎ Ability to work under pressure.
∎ Willingness and ability to drive bi-cycle to undertake extensive travel in the field as and when required
Salary:
∎ BDT 20,000/month (inclusive all)
