Additional Requirements:
- Adequate knowledge of journalistic ethics and editorial standards.
- Good understanding of current affairs, national politics, and public interest issues.
- Proficiency in using digital verification tools / fact-checking tools and methodologies (e.g., Google Fact Check Tools, reverse image search, InVID, TinEye).
- Have experience to work in a media monitoring/fact-checking team.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in Bengali and English.
Responsibilities & Context:
To monitor various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok and encrypted chat apps for trending or viral news.
To prepare and upload authentic report by verifying the accuracy of posts, images, videos, all facts, figures, dates, and quotes.
To use digital verification techniques and tools like reverse image search, metadata analysis, public databases, news archives, and expert opinions for fact-checking.
To work with news teams and social media teams to flag and report misinformation.
To maintain a database of verified claims and fake news trends.
To stay updated on current events and disinformation tactics.
To ensure ethical guidelines, legal requirements and trustworthiness the report.
