Job Context:
∎ We are searching for a vibrant Tour Guide to join our STTS Ltd. The Tour Guide`s responsibilities include planning travel itineraries, familiarizing customers with the locality by Tourist Bus, and ensuring that the group remains safe at all times. You should also stay up-to-date with new attractions that may be of interest to customers.
∎ To ensure success as a Tour Guide, you should be an excellent storyteller with a knack for customer service. An outstanding Tour Guide will perform minor alterations to each itinerary to suit the unique interests of each group.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Greeting and welcoming customers to the tour.
∎ Organize tours by groups or individuals in Tourist Bus.
∎ Describe points of interest around the city to the group and answer any questions, which require learning a comprehensive history of each check point.
∎ Provide directions to visitors who would like to check out a specific area at a later date, and provide information related to lodging, food and other amenities
∎ Monitor the behavior of the group, especially when young children are in it, and ensure everyone remains in compliance with the rules.
∎ Distribute materials to the group at the beginning of the tour, which includes audio headsets and brochures.
∎ Offer specialist knowledge on subjects like history, arts and sciences, designs and architecture
∎ Greet visitors as soon as they get on board the bus, and show people to their seats if necessary.
∎ Be willing to put own spin on tour points, such as making jokes and providing insightful commentary.
∎ Work with management to develop new tour routes based on sites visitors have expressed interest in
∎ Maintain a positive, friendly demeanor at all times.
∎ Informing customers about the itinerary for each tour.
∎ Communicate with the group/s or their representative/s about the details of the tour – assembly time and place, destination, accommodation, transportation, immigration concerns (if the tour is set abroad) and costs.
∎ Make sure all the members of the tour group follow the schedules set.
∎ Communicate with the appropriate officials in your tour destination – like the police, medical institution or tour destination officials
∎ Make sure of the hotel accommodation in case the tour is schedule for more.
∎ Demonstrate extensive knowledge of our facility and related topics
∎ Greet all guests promptly at scheduled tour times.
∎ Outline the tour and timeline before beginning
∎ Determine if any guests have physical restrictions that should be considered
∎ Clearly and articulately provide information to guests in an engaging manner
∎ Answer any questions that the guests have
∎ Planning itineraries in accordance with weather forecasts and the length of each tour.
∎ Scheduling visits and purchasing tickets to museums, galleries, protected parks, and other attractions ahead of time, if required.
∎ Planning alternate activities in the event that cancellations, closures, or weather prohibit you from attending scheduled events.
∎ Gathering and maintaining the requisite equipment for each tour.
∎ Familiarizing yourself with the layout and history of the region or establishment in which you will be working.
∎ Familiarizing customers with each region or establishment.
∎ Encouraging guests to apply sunscreen regularly and to remain hydrated, if applicable.
∎ Directing customers to other, non-competing services that might be of interest to them.
