Experience:
MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from a recognized medical college/university.
Must have valid BMDC registration and be eligible to practice medicine in Bangladesh.
FCPS / MD / Diploma in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or another relevant postgraduate qualification will be highly preferred.
Additional training/certification in Emergency Medicine, ACLS, BLS, ATLS, PALS, or other relevant emergency-care programs will be an advantage.
Minimum 5 years of relevant clinical experience in a hospital, emergency department, clinic, medical center, or primary healthcare facility.
Experience in Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Primary Healthcare will be preferred.
Fresh postgraduate doctors with appropriate clinical training and valid BMDC registration may also be considered.
Proven ability to assess and manage emergency and acute medical cases independently within the scope of professional competence.
Experience working with multidisciplinary healthcare teams will be an advantage.
Job Summary:
We seek a dedicated, competent, patient-focused Emergency General Medical Officer cum Family Physician in Moheshkhali, Cox's Bazar, to provide high-quality medical care in emergency, outpatient, and primary healthcare settings.
The successful candidate will assess, diagnose, treat, and follow up with patients, including managing common medical conditions and emergency cases. The candidate should demonstrate sound clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 24/7 emergency medical assessment and initial management as per assigned duty roster.
Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and chronic medical conditions.
Conduct comprehensive history taking and physical examinations.
Provide appropriate emergency care, stabilization, and referral when required.
Manage common emergency conditions, minor injuries, acute infections, respiratory problems, gastrointestinal conditions, and other general medical cases.
Provide outpatient and primary healthcare services to patients of different age groups.
Develop appropriate treatment plans and prescribe medications according to clinical requirements.
Recognize critically ill patients and initiate timely emergency interventions.
Perform or assist with basic emergency procedures within the scope of competence.
Request and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic investigations.
Coordinate with specialists, consultants, nurses, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records and clinical documentation.
Provide appropriate health education, preventive care, and lifestyle counseling to patients and families.
Ensure appropriate follow-up and continuity of care.
Maintain patient confidentiality, professional ethics, and high standards of medical practice.
Follow infection prevention and control procedures and organizational clinical protocols.
Participate in clinical meetings, training programs, quality improvement initiatives, and development of clinical SOPs.
Ensure timely referral or transfer of patients requiring specialized or advanced care.
