Educational Requirements:
∎ Masters in Social Science or equivalent in any discipline from any recognized universities/ institutions with minimum 3-5 years of field experiences in nutrition or any other development project. Masters in Nutrition/ Applied Nutrition preferred.

Job Context:
∎ Shimantik, a national non-government organization in Bangladesh, started its activities back in 1979 initially to provide succor to the flood- stricken people of Zakigonj and Kanaighat upazilas of Sylhet covering 209 upazila in 29 District focusing on six main priorities i.e i) Health ii) Research iii) Skill Development iv) Education v) Advocacy/Awareness vi) Livelihood/ Environment. It has One Head Quarter, 2 Coordination and 55 branch offices in Bangladesh.
∎ Shimantik invites application for the following positions from the potential Bangladeshi nationals for implementing "Nutrition Awareness and Support Services (NASS)" Project at 10 upazilla in Barishal, Pirojpur, Bagerhat, Gopalganj & Shariatpur District in Bangladesh. The NASS project funded by World Bank & Social Development Foundation (SDF)
∎ Job Location: Any district of Barishal, Pirojpur, Bagerhat & Shariatpur district
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support/follow up activities of Upazilla Nutrition Supervisor & Nutrition Organizers.
∎ Provide technical knowledge on Nutrition, Homestead Gardening, Gender and Hygiene promotion to the targeted HHs
∎ Provide technical support to the community level Nutrition Organizer and Nutrition Support Committee (NSC) members
∎ Provide support in developing training modules, building staff capacity and hands-on support to conducting training.
∎ Coordinate and supervise field level activities
∎ Facilitate advocacy workshops with Government and local Stake holders
∎ Maintain network and close liaison with district, sub-district (upazila) and union level stakeholders & govt. authorities like DC, CS, UNO, UH&FPO, FPO and other staff of health and family planning department, Food and agriculture department, Fisheries department & media sector
∎ Compile all statistical reporting data to prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly report.
∎ Assist management by ensuring quality control and timely submission of all types of reports and information
∎ Prepare monthly/quarterly report and submit in Donors District office, Dc office & CS office.
∎ Any other task assignment by authority
∎ Must have practical experiences on monthly progress report (MPR) compilation and excellent knowledge on MS word (Bengali & English) & excel.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 28 years
∎ At least 3 year(s) practical experiences
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO
∎ Worked/Working with Nutrition Project will give preference
∎ Must have practical experiences on monthly progress report (MPR) compilation
∎ Supervising experience on more than 25 staffs
∎ Excellent knowledge on MS word (Bengali & English) & excel, PowerPoint & internet browsing
∎ Experience in the implementation on maternal, child, adolescent nutrition
∎ WASH related programs at field
∎ Knowledge on public health and nutrition programming particularly SBCC and IYCF
∎ Skills in adult learning and training following design and developing training modules, preparing training curriculum in health & nutrition, facilitating training courses. Strong interpretation skills and working experiences in large team with limited resources
∎ Good communication, Facilitation and motivational skill.
∎ Understanding of local cultural languages.
∎ Abilities to undertake extensive travel to village level
∎ Effective computer literacy
∎ Having problem solving and prompt decision making capacity.
∎ Ability to work under pressure
∎ Having non-discriminatory and gender sensitive perception
Salary: Tk. 21568 (Monthly)
