Job Context:
∎ PwC provides professional services, including audit and assurance, tax and consulting, covering such areas as cybersecurity and privacy, human resources, deals, and forensics to clients in Bangladesh. We are hiring a Director, Indirect Tax to join the team in Dhaka.
∎ We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead and guide strategic indirect tax planning while overseeing reviews, compliance, and litigation support for Customs and VAT matters across diverse business operations.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide expertise in tax classification, valuation, and tax implications for transactions, along with advice on tax benefits and exemptions.
∎ Ensure Indirect Tax Reviews, Health Checks, and Due Diligence Reviews.
∎ Perform comprehensive business operation reviews to identify tax planning opportunities and compliance gaps.
∎ Manage Compliance Support and Outsourcing in relevant fields.
∎ Develop customized compliance manuals for Customs and VAT matters.
∎ Offer Litigation support, including drafting responses, appeals, and submissions.
∎ Represent and argue cases before adjudication, appellate authorities, Tribunals, and Customs/anti-dumping authorities.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 60 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ The ideal candidate should possess a finance/accounting degree. Having an MBA
∎ (Master of Business Administration) will be an added advantage
∎ CA or equivalent qualification
∎ Bachelor of Legislative Law (LLB) will be considered as an advantage
∎ Strong knowledge of Customs and VAT laws as well as regulatory compliances
∎ A minimum of 8-10 years of industry experience and 5-7 years of consulting in a big four handling both manufacturing and services are required

Salary:
∎ USD 51,000 – USD 58,000 (Annually)
