Educational Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ This position will lead and oversee (in collaboration with other technical staff) the development and delivery of a high quality, innovative, cost effective and sustainable program resulting in the development of improved education quality in targeted subjects and grades.
∎ S/he will provide overall technical oversight and guidance on learning and reading instruction; supervise the production of all program-supported reading materials, curriculum development, training and coaching materials, and assessment efforts.
∎ S/he will be responsible for introducing best practices in early grade reading instruction, assessment, training, coaching, and materials development strategies to ensure effective use with responsible government and partner entities.
∎ S/he will provide technical oversight for community-based and/or out-of-school educational programming for children and youth.
∎ Collaborate closely with the Ministry of Education and key USAID Implementing Partners and other donors and key stakeholders.
∎ Based on collaboration and in consultation with USAID, refine and adjust technical approaches and annual work plans.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 7 years of experience with progressively increasing responsibility for designing, managing, and implementing complex education programming in developing countries involving multiple stakeholders and implementing partners. Including 5 years' experience in design and implementation of school based disaster management plans and Education in Emergencies.
∎ At least three years of experience providing technical leadership on large-scale USAID funded projects and designing and implementing risk reduction and preparedness and education programming, preferably in Southeast Asia
∎ Demonstrated hands-on experience in developing standards for assessment systems, including for student learning outcomes, teacher performance, and school performance
∎ Ability to collaborate and liaise with senior MoE officials, other USAID implementing partners, other relevant education sector programs, and senior members of the donor community
∎ Proven track record managing a project team composed of several technical experts from multi-cultural backgrounds and fostering team work
∎ Strengths in inspiring and enabling others through training, and capacity building to realize organizational objectives.
∎ Strong oral, written, and presentations skills in English. Knowledge of Bangla language is required
