∎ Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
∎ In-depth knowledge of Interior Design materials and construction processes.
∎ Excellent communication and negotiation skill.
∎ Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
∎ Familiarity with industry standards and regulation
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Prepare detailed cost estimates for Interior Design project, including materials, labor, equipment and other expenses.
∎ Develop and manage project budget, ensuring alignment with client financial constraints.
∎ Provide value engineering solutions to optimize costs without compromising design and product quality.
∎ Research and price materials, furnishing, fixtures and finishes specified in the design.
∎ Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and negotiate discounts.
∎ Estimate labor costs for construction, installation and other related services.
∎ Collaboration with Design and Project Teams
∎ Work closely with designers to understand project specification and requirements.
∎ Provide feedback to the design team on cost implications of design decisions.
∎ Participate in project meetings to discuss budget constraints and adjustments.
∎ Track and monitor project cost throughout the project lifecycle avoid budget overruns.
∎ Prepare cost reports and forecasts for project stakeholders.
∎ Identify and report potential cost risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
∎ Software and Tools Utilization
∎ Use cost estimation software and tools (e.g., Excel, AutoCAD or specialized software) to generate estimates.
∎ Maintain organized records of all estimates, budgets and financial data.
∎ Stay updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations and market conditions.
∎ Build and maintain a database of reliable supplies, subcontractors and vendors.
∎ Bid Preparation and Proposal Development
∎ Prepare comprehensive bid documents, including cost breakdowns and project timelines.
∎ Analyze subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure alignment with project requirement and budgets.
∎ Assist in the preparation of client proposals with detailed cost and scope information.
∎ Ensure the cost estimates comply with relevant building codes, standards and regulations.
∎ Factor in any permits, licenses or fees required for project execution.
