Responsibilities & Context:
Interpret and validate complex microbiological investigations and provide expert advice on antimicrobial therapy.
Direct infection prevention and control (IPC) programs, monitor hospital-acquired infections, and manage antibiotic stewardship programs.
Oversee microbiology laboratory staff, ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, and manage regulatory requirements.
Advise physicians and clinical teams on the selection of tests for disease diagnosis and patient management.
Lead investigations into infection outbreaks within healthcare settings.
