Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Science (BSc), Diploma in Civil
∎ Previous experience in building in the refugee camps.
∎ Minimum higher education in construction.
∎ Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English fluently

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Construction Supervisor will support the project team in the supervision, monitoring, and organizing the construction of structures where the programs are implemented. The Construction Supervisor will support the project team to accomplish our objectives as described in the project log frame. He or she will be expected to comply with both World Concern and Medair organizational policies and procedures as well as government and donor requirements.
∎ RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Quality Control and Quality Assurance
∎ Supervise to ensure the quality of the construction.
∎ Ensure quality of materials and quality of workers or builders.
∎ Management of construction staff
∎ Organizing of community to hire porters, unskilled labor and skilled labor,
∎ Management of working labor.
∎ Organizing and monitoring of transportation of material to construction site.
∎ Supervision of Construction and Safety
∎ Supervise the construction quality.
∎ Ensure that the construction develops as planned and in timely manner.
∎ Follow up with builders, workers and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and construction.
∎ Ensure and promotes a safety working site.
∎ Communication and coordination
∎ Actively communicate with Construction Manager and Logistics team to coordinate procurement, delivery and transportation of material.
∎ Coordinate construction activities with program staff related to the construction at hand.
∎ Coordinate with local authorities and site management when necessary.
∎ Inform the PM/CD/HR manager in case of any major (potential) issue within these areas of responsibility as well as any (suspected) cases of fraud and/or security concerns.
∎ The Shelter Project Officer may be asked to also support other activities in the office or the field depending on need and when other work is slow.
∎ Support for the Construction PM and/or Shelter Manager
∎ Participate in the general design of activities and planning of the project.
∎ Participate in the recruitment of refugee construction volunteers and porters.
∎ Advise, support and monitor the work of the staff members assigned.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 28 years
∎ Understand, articulate and support World Concern and Medair vision, mission, core identity and values
∎ Previous work experience in construction or construction supervision
∎ At least 6 months work experience working with the Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals,
∎ Ability to speak in the local Chittagonian dialect
∎ Problem solving capabilities, organizing and communication skills.
∎ Ability to work well and efficiently under pressure
Salary: Negotiable
