Responsibilities & Context:
Transcription:
Transcribing Medical Reports: Listening to and accurately typing out dictated reports from Radiologists (for USG/Ultrasound and X-Ray results).
Ensuring Accuracy: Verifying patient details, medical terminology, and report content for spelling and grammatical errors before finalization.
Formatting Reports: Ensuring that the final diagnostic reports are correctly formatted according to hospital standards.
Computer Operation:
Data Entry and Management: Entering patient information, test requests, and report data into the hospital's electronic health record (EHR) or Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) if available.
Image Handling: Assisting with the proper storage, retrieval, and burning/transfer of USG and X-Ray images as needed (e.g., to CDs or network shares).
System Maintenance: Performing basic troubleshooting on computer equipment, printers, and transcription software.
Administrative Support:
Report Dissemination: Printing, collating, and dispatching finalized reports to relevant departments or patients.
Record Keeping: Maintaining organized digital and physical records of reports and patient files.
Communication: Interacting with technologists, radiologists, and other hospital staff regarding report status or data clarification.
Any assigned work by Management.
