Job Context:
∎ Nazrul Smriti Sangsad-NSS is a non-government humanitarian organization working for the advancement of the poor, women, children, minority group, excluded people and person with disability since 2000. NSS is a non-profitable, non-political, child and gender sensitive organization. It always values all diversified people without discriminating religions, casts, creeds and suppresses all sorts of discrimination with ethnic and minority people. It also values class and levels of team members as well as beneficiaries.
∎ The organization is going to implement a project titled "The Youth Environmental Stewardship for Eco-Friendly Communities (YES4ECO) in three climate vulnerable communities of one sub -districts in Barguna, namely Amtali Upazila through three adolescent and youth led Climate Change Adaptation and Environmental Stewardship group/clubs. Building on international pledges for Children, Youth and Climate Action and taking a rights-based approach, the project will educate and strengthen these clubs by supplementing training and learning sharing engaging community-based participatory social research. They will be equipped with the concepts, capacity, connections, and leadership confidence to mobilize their communities to roll out a plan of `Environmentally sensitive and Climate smart Community.
∎ We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the post of Community Mobilizer for an upcoming Barnfonden and Educo Supported project Youth Environmental Stewardship for Eco-friendly Communities (YES4ECO). The project will be implemented over a 24-month period, commencing from June 2023.
∎ Job Location: Union Level of Amtali Upazila of Barguna District.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensured community participation in planning, implementation community-based monitoring of the project.
∎ Formed adolescent and youth-led Climate Change Adaptation and Environmental Stewardship group/club.
∎ Capacity building of youth-led Climate Change Adaptation and Environmental Stewardship group/club, CBOs, Volunteers, and other community catalyst in line with project plan.
∎ Ensure execution of soft and hardware activities with the leadership of YES4ECO club members/CBOs.
∎ Monitoring of project activities and solving field problems.
∎ Able to take various kinds of sessions on environment and climate change issue.
∎ Arrange and conduct need based training of different group of project participants.
∎ Conduct/ support in conducting sensitization/orientation on environment and climate change for community and Educational Institution.
∎ Promote Eco-Friendly Community.
∎ Organize, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of youth led project/activities and documentation of lessons learn based on project plan and outcome.
∎ Make and submit monthly target plan of assigned work.
∎ Perform the responsibility as and when assigned by the Project Coordinator.
∎ Represent Vision and Mission of NSS at field level.
∎ Work as a team member of the coordination of organization and facilitate team work. All other duties assigned by the PC and Executive Director.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 40 years
∎ Minimum 3 years' experience of community mobilization preferably with NGO's, working with Adolescent and Youth group in rural Communities.
∎ Strong facilitation, interpersonal and presentation skills.
∎ Ability to work independently, functioning effectively in a collaborative team environment.
∎ Excellent command on English and Bangla in verbal and written communication.
∎ Experience of community mobilization, preferably in terms Climate Change Adaptation and Environmental Stewardship in any development organization.
∎ She/he is expected to have sound knowledge on climate change and understanding on good practices related to climate change adaptation activities at the community level.
∎ Ability to take challenge; willingness of frequent field travel; capability of working under pressure and excellent communication skill are essential.
∎ Considering prior experience of working in Climate Change Adaptation and familiarity with local context education may be relaxed.
∎ Have to be gender sensitive with sound knowledge on gender issues.

∎ Not over 30 - 40 (Age limit may be relaxed in case of highly experienced candidate).
Salary:
∎ TK. 20,000 (with two festival bonus and other admissible benefits according to the project budget.)
