Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Social Science
∎ Bachelor degree in Sociology/Social work/Anthropology or related subject
∎ Knowledge of social behaviour change communication theory
∎ Master degree in social sciences
∎ Certificate/Diploma in public health or other relevant degree with 1-2 years' work experience
∎ Training in humanitarian standards

∎ At least 1 year(s)

Job Context:
∎ Contribute to the reduction of morbidity and mortality resulting from COVID-19 and ensure the protection of the wider camp population through the provision of home-based care for mild and moderate cases, support for quarantine centres and IPC messaging through risk communication and community engagement (RCCE).
∎ World Concern/Medair will support 2 Health Posts in the FDMN camps.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Technical:
∎ Lead good hygiene practices related to the COVID-19 pandemic and effective community engagement through improving knowledge and changing the attitudes and behaviour of the targeted communities.
∎ Closely work with community health supervisors and regularly meet with the CHWs and relevant hygiene field staff to review and progress of the activities and discuss/resolve any issues/challenges.
∎ Develop monthly, quarterly and annual work plans and budgets for Community Engagement.
∎ Contribute to daily report writing in relation to the community engagement activities
∎ Promote, facilitate and coordinate a participatory approach among all stakeholders.
∎ Undertake innovative idea or new community engagement approaches to be assigned time-to-time by the Project office.
∎ Staff Supervision & Development:
∎ Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and provide guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
∎ Provide support and mentorship to other staff, in addition providing on-the-job training where needed.
∎ Report to management staff any disciplinary actions needed.
∎ Quality Management and beneficiary accountability:
∎ Provide daily oversite and supervision to ensure the community engagement activities are being carried out with the highest quality
∎ Meet with beneficiaries to get feedback on activities, needs, and improve ways of working
∎ Meet with community leaders to ensure support for the project and better uptake of the community to the health services
∎ Coordination & Representation:
∎ Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local communities and other implementing partners.
∎ Monitoring & Reporting:
∎ Review, compile and submit reports as required by World Concern/ Medair, cluster and MOH.
∎ Submit daily reports in a timely manner.
∎ Other Duties:
∎ Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of the team; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to World Concern/Medair management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for the health team.
∎ Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop the health team


Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 23 to 50 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Previous work within a natural disaster or mass casualty incident is an added advantage.
∎ Previous work with a humanitarian NGO (Desirable)
∎ Fluent in Bengali
∎ Fluent in written and spoken English
∎ Fluent in Chittagonian dialect
∎ Skills to provide sensitive and appropriate medical counselling
∎ Fluent in Rohingya language (Desirable)
∎ Self-motivated
∎ Desire to serve the Rohingya community
∎ Willingness to work in a remote setting
∎ Willing to do tasks outside of Job Description as required
∎ Cultural diversity
∎ Enjoys working in a team environment
∎ Respectful towards other cultures
∎ Able to establish relationships easily
∎ Good communication skills
∎ Able to stand in front of large groups confidently
∎ Respectful when talking to beneficiaries and other staff
