Educational Requirements:
∎ Diploma in public health or other relevant clinical degree (nurse, MA, clinical doctor)
∎ Registration with local licensing authority
∎ Knowledge of social behavior change communication theory.

Job Context:
∎ World Concern/Medair will support a Health Post for care in the FDMN camp 20 extension.
∎ To facilitate the achievement of the objectives to reduce morbidity and mortality through provision of essential primary health services within FDMN camp 20 extension.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Technical :
∎ Responsible to manage and oversee community health volunteers to carry out social behaviour change communication (SBCC)
∎ With the support of the Health Project Manager/Health Manager, recruit community health volunteers (CHVs)
∎ Provide training to volunteers on health and nutrition community activities
∎ Provide regular supportive supervision to CHVs to enable them to perform their duties effectively
∎ Responsible to oversee compiling and collecting of relevant community health on a weekly and monthly basis.
∎ Act as a link between Medair and community structures such as community leaders, volunteers, beneficiaries and beneficiary groups
∎ Support planning for nutrition activities at community level in line with national/local guidelines
∎ Conduct detailed mapping of the site catchment areas
∎ Promote adoption of good health and nutrition practices and behaviour learnt at community and household level.
∎ Identify and reporting challenges faced in implementation for timely resolution.
∎ Coordinate the dissemination of nutrition promotional messages in the targeted community
∎ Monitor and supervise data collection by volunteers and ensuring accuracy and completeness
∎ Staff Supervision & Development :
∎ Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and provide guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
∎ Provide support and mentorship to other clinic staff, providing on-the-job training where needed.
∎ Supervise community health volunteers including monitoring attendance, arranging schedules and areas of work
∎ Report to management staff any disciplinary actions needed.
∎ With support of relevant health manager facilitate meetings with Community Health Volunteers for feedback and trouble shooting
∎ Quality Management and beneficiary accountability:
∎ Provide daily oversite and supervision to ensure the community health activities are being carried out with the highest quality
∎ Meet with beneficiaries to get feedback on activities, needs, and improve ways of working
∎ Meet with community leaders to ensure support for the project and better uptake of the community to the health services
∎ Coordination & Representation :
∎ Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local communities and other implementing partners.
∎ Monitoring & Reporting:
∎ Review, compile and submit reports as required by World Concern/ Medair, cluster and MOH.
∎ Submit daily reports in a timely manner.
∎ Other Duties :
∎ Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of the team; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to World Concern/Medair management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for the health team.
∎ Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop the health team.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 24 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 1-2 years experience working in community health/public health
∎ Previous work within a natural disaster or mass casualty incident is an added advantage.
∎ Previous work with a humanitarian NGO
∎ Fluent in written and spoken English
∎ Fluent in Bengali
∎ Fluent in Chittagonian dialect
∎ Skills to provide sensitive and appropriate medical counselling
∎ Fluent in Rohingya language
∎ Self-motivated
∎ Desire to serve the Rohingya community
∎ Willingness to work in a remote setting
∎ Willing to do tasks outside of Job Description when asked
∎ Enjoys working in a team environment
∎ Respectful towards other cultures
∎ Able to establish relationships easily Good interpersonal skills
∎ Good communication skills
∎ Able to stand in front of large groups confidently
∎ Respectful when talking to beneficiaries and other staff
∎ Ability and flexibility to understand the cultural and political environment and to work well with the local health representatives.
