Job Context:
∎ ABOUT THE POSITION:
∎ Under the guidance of the ECOFISH-Bangladesh Chief of Party/Team Leader, and in close collaboration with the Country Communications focal of WorldFish Bangladesh, Communications & marketing team of headquarters; the Communication Specialist is responsible for supporting the development & implement of communications strategy, outreach, and products. The position holder will provide guidance, communications insight, and recommended action in support of ECOFISH-Bangladesh communication strategy and the communications and documentation plan of the project. He/she will be responsible ECOFISH`s strategic outreach, public affairs, and internal and external communications.
∎ The Communications Specialist will maintain strong relationship with print and electronic media, publication agencies, and work closely with the Communications and Marketing Department, WorldFish headquarters and all other projects of Bangladesh office for smooth implementation of the project. S/he will manage the project branding and marking policy in accordance with WorldFish and donor communication guidelines and policies. S/he will coordinate with Department of Fisheries (DoF) and other organizations` staffs to support/organize communication events as required and ensure that all products placed in the public domain meet the guidelines set by WorldFish and donor.
∎ Eligibility and Location:
∎ The position will be based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Interviews are expected to be held on April 2023 and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful candidate should be available as soon as possible to serve 8 months fixed-term contract with the possibility of contract renewal depending on performance and funding availability.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the guidance of the ECOFISH CoP/Team Leader, and in close collaboration with the Communications and Marketing Department, WorldFish headquarters, support the development and implementation of the ECOFISH II - Bangladesh communication strategy based on the project as well as WorldFish research and communications priorities.
∎ In close collaboration with the country communications team, drive the development and execution of communications strategies, tactics, messaging, content, and work plans in line with the ECOFISH's key program priorities and overarching communications strategy.
∎ Ensure compliance with USAID's branding & marking regulations at all times, both internally with project WorldFish staff and with project sub-grantees.
∎ Develop project's communication materials (creation of presentations, publications, communications, web content, and more) for internal and external audiences.
∎ Serve as the primary liaison between the ECOFHSH team and key internal stakeholders, including Marketing & Communications, Development, Public Sector Engagement, Policy and Government Affairs, and the WorldFish head quarter.
∎ Generate press releases and facilitate domestic and international media inquiries and timely engagement, in close coordination with the WorldFish HQ Communications Team and USAID mission.
∎ Contribute to the preparation and conduct of events such as workshops, conferences, seminars and exhibitions, as well as briefings and trips to the field or project site by USAID official and/or WorldFish global management team.
∎ Work in close coordination with the Communication units of other WorldFish projects in the country to increase efficiencies, achieve synergies and maximize utilization of the resources.
∎ Support in selecting ECOFISH team programmatic areas to provide guidance on developing and reaching communications goals related to the programs.
∎ Track topics relevant to the ECOFISH team's communication agenda and identifies gaps to mitigate potential reputational issues.
∎ Responsible for media coverage of the project research results and achievements; establish strong relationship with national, regional and international media outlets; develop media briefs and maintain the program media/journalist database.
∎ Develop social media toolkits/messages/visuals for communicating around key moments and opportunities (e.g. start & end of project, key findings, relevant endorsements, success stories, milestones, local impact);
∎ Archive printed, audio visual and others materials for ECOFISH project.
∎ Regularly attend the monthly meetings of the WorldFish Communications Network to ensure coordination with HQ and other country offices on global communication campaigns, strategic events and new communication policies.
∎ Any other relevant duties as assigned by the CoP/Team Leader and/or Director of Communications and Marketing.

Additional Requirements:
∎ This job is open to all applicants with the following skills and qualifications:
∎ Minimum 5 years of applied working experience in implementing communications and knowledge management activities for a development project, program or institution.
∎ Demonstrated experience of exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills in English and in Bangla for a variety of formats (i.e. web and digital platform, print publications, press releases, etc.)
∎ Preferably experience with USAID-funded projects and strong familiarity of the USAID graphic standards manual and partner co-branding guide.
∎ Good understanding and experienced user of social platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube), interactive multimedia tools, and media monitoring tools.
∎ Experience with graphic design software; photo, film and audio editing software; Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work in a team-oriented, multi-cultural environment.
∎ Fundamental understanding of behavior change communications, marketing, social media, digital engagement, and media.
∎ Experience of working and communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders including policy- makers and government officials, NGOs, the media, community representatives.
∎ Extensive experience producing communications and KM products and technically supervising a creative team member.
∎ Proven ability to digest, analyze and present complex information clearly and concisely in a wide variety-ty of formats to non-scientific audiences.
∎ Background understanding of key topics related to aquaculture, fisheries, market development, nutrition, gender, youth issues in Bangladesh.
∎ Understanding of and contacts in national media in Bangladesh.
∎ Proven ability to integrate, inspire and develop multidisciplinary teams and manage talent, with the strong commitment to promote diversity, knowledge sharing and staff development.
∎ Ability to effectively communicate a common vision to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
∎ Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills and ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels in a decentralized, respectful, multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary organization.
∎ Demonstrated ability to serve as an agent of change, in order to build a unified CGIAR culture and dynamic, integrated and agile organization.

∎ Reliable and pro-active with excellent organizational skill.
∎ Ability to produce audiovisual and multimedia material with strong understanding of the creative production from beginning to end.
∎ Sound judgement, effective decision-making, and personal accountability.
∎ Understanding of key sustainable development issues in Bangladesh and/or Southeast Asia.
∎ Proven project management abilities.
∎ Ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
∎ Strong skills in event planning and management.
∎ Flexibility to take on assignments at short notice or to change assignments at short notice.
∎ Functional skills in PhotoShop and basic video editing.
∎ Proficiency in Adobe Design Premium suite of products or similar.
∎ Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and capacity to work long hours when required.
