• MBBS strongly preferred, ideally with a postgraduate qualification in Public Health, Epidemiology, Clinical Research, or a related field. Candidates without an MBBS but with equivalent clinical/health research seniority will also be considered.

• 10-15 years of experience in clinical or health systems research, with substantial experience in a hospital or clinical trial setting.

• Prior experience in women's health research (maternal health, reproductive health, gender-based violence and health, or related areas) strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated experience with quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, including study design, data collection tools, and statistical analysis.

• Prior publication record in peer-reviewed journals.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bangla, including academic/scientific writing.

• Proficiency in data management and analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, or similar).

• Familiarity with Bangladesh's healthcare regulatory environment, including BMRC ethical clearance procedures.

• Experience setting up a research function or unit from scratch.

• Experience working with international research collaborators or multi-country studies.

SAJIDA Foundation is seeking a seasoned and experienced Senior Clinical Research Lead to establish and lead hospital-based clinical research initiatives with a focused priority on women's health. This is a foundational role: the successful candidate will design and set up systems, partnerships, and protocols for conducting rigorous clinical research within hospital settings, working closely with clinicians, hospital administration, and the Research team.
This position is ideal for a senior researcher who wants to build something from the ground up, shaping how SAJIDA's healthcare institutions generate evidence to improve outcomes for women across Bangladesh.

Major Responsibilities

• Establish hospital-based clinical research infrastructure, including protocols, ethical review processes, and data management systems in coordination with hospital leadership and clinical staff.

• Design and lead clinical research studies with a focus on women's health (e.g., maternal health, reproductive health, gynecological conditions, or related areas as prioritized by SAJIDA's healthcare institutions).

• Coordinate with clinicians and hospital departments to identify research priorities, integrate research activities into clinical workflows, and ensure minimal disruption to patient care.

• Develop and manage study protocols, including informed consent procedures, participant recruitment plans, and data collection tools, ensuring compliance with national and international ethical guidelines (e.g., BMRC).

• Liaise with Institutional Review Boards/Ethics Committees to secure necessary approvals and maintain ongoing compliance.

• Manage clinical research data, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to data protection standards.

• Build partnerships with academic institutions, funders, and external research collaborators to start SAJIDA's clinical research portfolio.

• Supervise and mentor junior research staff (research assistants, data collectors) as the function grows.

• Prepare research outputs, including study reports, manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

• Support grant and concept note development for new clinical research funding opportunities.
