Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor's degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) or other fields relevant to international development assistance.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s)
Job Context:
∎ Duty station: Ukhiya (Camps), Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh
∎ Starting date: 01 January 2022
∎ Contract duration: 6 months (renewable)
∎ Reports to: Shelter Supervisor
∎ Coordinates with: Shelter Program Manager/Shelter Supervisor/Liaison Officer/ Shelter/NFI sector/donor (at the field level)
Additional Requirements:
∎ A Minimum of five years of experience where three years of relevant Shelter and site management/site development experience at increasing levels of responsibilities. Experience in construction engineering will be considered an asset.
∎ Keep strong coordination with other implementing agencies and local governmental authorities at field level.
∎ Knowledge on different standards (Sphere, Core Humanitarian Standards, etc).
∎ Good communication and leadership skills.
∎ Knowledge and experience of design, planning and supervision of construction projects.
∎ Familiarity with the special context of refugee camps in Cox's Bazar is an asset.
∎ Prior knowledge of Bangladeshi/Cox's bazar humanitarian contexts is a value added.
∎ Good English skills (written and spoken).
∎ Cox's Bazar's Local dialect is an asset.
∎ Ability to establish collaborative relationships with staff, beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
∎ Strong attitude to take initiative, work autonomously and achieve results effectively.
∎ Respect of HEKS/EPER mission and values.
