Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Demonstrate complete understanding on the factors and criteria (within local contexts and as per Winrock International’s guideline) based on which potential human trafficking survivors will be identified and enrolled with the project;
∎ Ensure timely and high-quality implementation of economic empowerment activities according to the approved document and plan;
∎ Ensure comprehensive career counselling session to each survivor with the support of social services team to develop their economic empowerment plan;
∎ Identify the appropriate skills development program and approaches of skills training based on the local context and needs of the survivors;
∎ Ensure wage-based employment of each skilled graduate survivor with the support of private sector companies in district or national job markets;
∎ Ensure entrepreneurship development training to the interested survivors with necessary Business Development Services (BDS) to develop sustainable enterprise;
∎ Ensure 6-month follow-up support to each employed survivor to retain in the job through counselling, guidance, coaching, etc.;
∎ Engage with the employers, sector experts, financial institutions and other private sector stakeholders to devise and facilitate the execution of training and employment in line with program goals;
∎ Demonstrate knowledge and understanding to develop the capacities of local institutions that will provide direct and indirect support-services to the survivors, if need be;
∎ Identify and map opportunities for other forms of income-generation within the working areas, based on the contexts/demands of the areas, and skillsets and qualifications of the survivors;
∎ Demonstrate sensitivity towards the survivor’s trafficking contexts, gender-specific issues, and residual trauma, when communicating with the survivors;
∎ Demonstrate the ability to develop close interpersonal relationships with each survivor, in a case-sensitive manner;
∎ Demonstrate the ability to uphold SDS and Winrock International’s ‘Code of Conduct’ and ‘Do No Harm’ policy, whilst working directly with the survivors to ensure their successful reintegration;
∎ Demonstrate the ability to uphold confidentiality of information when working with each survivor;
∎ Ability to support the SRPs and WI Ashshash’s program teams with detailed information on each survivor, their contexts, and preferences;
∎ Ability to maintain detailed case-systems for each survivor (i.e. case studies) to make and publish reports, and support the WI program teams with prompt assessment of survivors’ contexts;
∎ Provide support to ensure baseline, mid-line, and final evaluations are conducted accurately, considering Winrock International’s and the donor's requirements; and other duties, as assigned.
∎ Project Title: ASHSHASH (For Men and Women Who Have Escaped Trafficking in Bangladesh)
∎ PROJECT BACKGROUND:
∎ Winrock International – Ashshash (Phase–II), is funded by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh. The project will support human trafficking survivors with sustainable social and economic reintegration into their respective communities, and also provide support-services that will ensure their wellbeing and self-sufficiency. The survivors will be provided psychosocial counseling support along with other social services and facilitated opportunities for skills-devolvement and entrepreneurship training. Through which, the economic empowerment of the survivors will also be ensured in the forms of wage-based and self-employment, and other income generational opportunities. The main objective of the project is to ensure that “women and men who have escaped trafficking will restore their dignity and wellbeing and become self-sufficient”. Furthermore, Ashshash will reach people in the project’s working areas; either directly or indirectly, through awareness-raising activities on factors that make people vulnerable to human trafficking, and to ensure the prevention of human trafficking.
∎ The four-year-long second phase of Ashshash will provide comprehensive and personalized packages of service-provision to the survivors of human trafficking in Bangladesh. The project will be implemented in ten of the most trafficking-prone areas across the country.
∎ POSITION SUMMARY:
∎ The Case Manager (CM), Economic Development will lead and implement the overall activities related to economic empowerment services for trafficking survivors under the direct oversight of Sustainable Reintegration Partner (SRP) across the working district of Ashshash project. This includes, but not necessarily limited to, working with the team of SRPs to deliver comprehensive career counselling, soft skills, skills development, entrepreneurship training, assessment, certification, employment including Wage and Self with follow-up support. The Case Manager will also maintain records, contribute to monitoring and evaluation as well as adhere to donor policies and procedures.
