• Conduct various laboratory tests on samples (e.g., blood, urine, tissue) to assist in diagnosing diseases, monitoring health conditions, and supporting research.
• Maintains laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
• Set up and calibrate laboratory instruments, ensuring they are functioning correctly. Regularly clean, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment to ensure precision and accuracy.
• Analyze test results, identify abnormalities, and document findings. In some cases, provide preliminary interpretations or recommendations based on the results.
• Follow all safety protocols to handle hazardous materials, chemicals, and biological specimens properly.
• Ensure that testing procedures meet high standards of quality and consistency. Regularly participate in quality control checks and participate in audits to maintain laboratory certifications.
