Responsibilities:
Recipe Development: Develop and refine recipes for a variety of baked goods and pastries, including desserts, cakes & cookies.
Menu Planning: Collaborate with the culinary team to create seasonal menus featuring innovative and visually appealing desserts and baked items.
Ingredient Sourcing: Source high-quality ingredients and supplies, ensuring freshness and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Quality Control: Implement and maintain strict quality control standards to uphold the reputation of the bakery/pastry department. Ensure consistency in quality, taste and presentation.
Training: Train and mentor junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff in baking techniques, recipe execution, and proper food safety protocols.
Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels for baking ingredients and supplies, optimizing usage and minimizing waste.
Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of bakery equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards at all times.
