• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Audiology, Speech and Hearing Sciences
• Master of Science (MSc) in Audiology, Speech and Hearing Sciences
• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Audiology

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Audiology, Speech and Hearing Sciences, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.

• At least 3 years

• Minimum 03 years of clinical experience in audiology, preferably in a hospital, ENT clinic, or NGO setting.
• 02 years practical experience as Junior Audiologist in any reputed Institution.
• Experience requirement may be relaxed for candidates having relevant certified training, participation nation/international conferences and certifications obtained at home and abroad in the field of audiology
• Expertise in hearing evaluation, hearing aid dispensing, and auditory rehabilitation.
• Sound knowledge of audiological equipment and fitting software.
• Excellent interpersonal and counselling skills, especially with children and special-needs populations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and audiological data management systems.
• Strong ethical standards and sensitivity to cultural and social diversity.

Society for Assistance to Hearing Impaired Children (SAHIC) is a voluntary non-government organization established in February 1987 and registered with the Department of Social Services, Directorate General of Social Welfare, and NGO Affairs Bureau, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, with the aim and objectives of prevention, early detection, and rehabilitation of hearing impaired children, along with treatment of general people's ear, nose, and throat diseases.

About the role:

The Audiologist will serve as a key clinical professional at SAHIC, responsible for diagnosing hearing disorders, prescribing and fitting hearing aids, and providing auditory rehabilitation services. This role includes designing individualized care plans, collaborating with ENT professionals and rehabilitation teams, and guiding parents and caregivers in managing hearing impairment. The Audiologist plays a vital role in achieving SAHIC’s goals for early detection and comprehensive care of hearing-impaired individuals.

Brief description of key responsibilities:

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments, including Pure Tone Audiometry, Tympanometry, Acoustic Reflex Threshold (ART), Speech Reception Threshold (SRT), Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE), Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR), Auditory Steady-State Response (ASSR), Free Field Audiometry (FFA), Aided Audiogram, Behavioral Observation Audiometry (BOA), Eustachian Tube Function (ETF) testing, Speech Audiometry, and Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry (BERA), as applicable.
• Diagnose hearing disorders and determine appropriate auditory rehabilitation plans.
• Select, fit, program, and verify hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.
• Provide auditory training and aural rehabilitation support to hearing-impaired individuals.
• Counsel patients and caregivers on hearing loss management, hearing aid maintenance, and communication strategies.
• Collaborate with ENT specialists, Senior audiologist speech-language pathologists/Speech Therapist, and educators for integrated patient care.
• Supervise audiology support staff and ensure service quality.
• Maintain updated patient records and documentation in compliance with data protection standards.
• Organize and participate in community hearing screening, awareness events, and outreach programs.
• Submit periodic reports to management and contribute to research or service development initiatives.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.
